1973 Plymouth Valiant sedan 318 A/C, disc brakes, solid car drive home, Florida
1973 Plymouth Valiant Description
Fun to drive little '73 Valiant sedan with 96,000 original miles. Golden Haze with white vinyl roof and tan interior. Original 318-2bbl V-8, auto, factory A/C, power steering, and power disc brakes. Car is in decent condition, and is virtually rust free except for the very bottom of the spare tire well in the trunk. The engine was not running when I got it, and I have nursed it back to health. It is now running well, burns no oil (except for a puff upon startup), and has plenty of power. This car has come a long way since I got ahold of it. I put a brand new gas tank, new sending unit, new fuel pump and filter, complete tune-up, fresh re-built original carb and a new battery. The cooling system has been flushed along with new thermostat. All gages work. Tranny shifts well, and the brakes are excellent. It will need a couple of tie-rod ends eventually, but still goes down the road well. It has had a cheap re-paint years ago in it's original Golden Haze metallic color. It will shine if it's buffed. I haven't gotten that far yet. It has brand new white wall tires, but for some reason this is the second set of these that are un-cleanable. They are stained beige, and will not clean. Just adds to the patina I guess. I will include it's original full wheel covers, as I am keeping the dog dishes and trim rings. The interior is decent, seats are great, factory vinyl and cloth, headliner is fair, rug is shot, dash is worn, front floors have been sanded and coated with PPG PSX Siloxane for waterproof durability. The A/C needs a charge, but still has some pressure in the system. Heater core is currently by-passed, as it does leak. It also needs a rear window, as the one in it is an old plexiglass piece. It works for now, but can't see out of it very good. So, as you can see, it still needs work, but is currently a dependable driver, and pretty darn near rust free. And, it's a V-8 car with power disc brakes. Great starting point for a really nice car.
