62 PONTIAC VISTA HARDTOP BARN FIND PARTS CAR SUPERDUTY PROJECT GASSER HOT RATROD
1962 Pontiac Catalina CATALINA VISTA HARDTOP RARE Description
This sale is for a Starlight Black 1962 Pontatic Catalina Vista Hardtop. This is an estate find earlier this year. Bid to own at $1.00 start price with NO RESERVE.
*This is a relist* If you missed it the last time you now your are in luck. If you saw it previously I owe you an explanation. Sorry in advance for the long two paragraphs below. I need to tell you my story.
The winner of the car has an impressive feedback score of 733 so with out a doubt you would never think of a communication issue after the sale but that is exactly what happened. Afterrepeated emails to him he simply won't reply. A manly thing to do hoping that the messages and problems of bidding irresponsible will go away. He is still currently buying and generating feedback right now.He has no compassion at all and well aware that I am sick and have cancer and currently in treatment and as time progresses I will bephysicallyunable to do anything. The backup bidder in the sale is as a solid buyer as well with a score at 169. His bid was $25.00 less then the winning bid. What is amazing here is that after bidding on the Pontiac within hours said he bought another vehicle just that quick.
Now with another week gone I must go through this up and down roller coasterof listing a car once again. Please be responsible and if you bid please follow through. Buyers remorse isn't an excuse. I don't want you to try get out of your obligation and offer to help me out by paying my ebay fees. That won't help and that is not how it works. If you bid and are the winner I expect you to pay what you bid. I am hanging this out here for a $1.00 and NO RESERVE. That means I am letting you tell me what you will pay me for my vehicle no matter how much.....because I NEED CLOSURE and the money. It isn't a game for me it is called survival. I am not working and still have a family. The ebaycommunity is the best. There are a lot of great people who just send a note of prayer and kind words and is much appreciated. Now you can no longer spot a deadbeat with his impressive score. As a seller you cannot leave anegativefeedback to warn others. Once I file a non payment case and I always do then I loose my ability to leave any feedback. Hard to warn others. Since listing my vehicles I have an impressive list of deadbeats like the one above. I would gladly share the details with anyone who is keeping a database.
The original listingThe person who acquired the car from the estate is a friend. He purchased it directly from the daughter also the executor of the estate of the mother and father that bought it new. She is adamant the car has 14,000 original miles which may be plausible considering the original owners lived in town but should only be considered just a cool factoid. I do have a copy of the original title where it was bought new on 8-7-62. from Ballard Pontiac in Waverly Ohio. I also have some of the original docs that were found in the car (pictured) In the door jamb there is an oil change sticker from Ballard Pontiac. From the original title it looks like the car had been licensed up until the 1970's. The second title issued 3/31/16 (current) states the miles are actual as well.
As you can see by the condition it needs a total restoration and should only considered an ambitious project or a parts car. It is non running and non operational. My plan was to fix the car. Yours may be different. Car is complete. All glass is good. Trim and bumpers are straight. The frame looks good. No attempt was made to start the engine though. I planned to work on it during the winter so as I do with all my cars, oiled it down with WD40 in preparation for short term storage.
I have included a picture of a 1962 Olds Starfire that I will be listing soon as well. The picture is only for reference and should not be construed as part of the sale. Please note the condition. This is what we expect to see of vehicles sitting out their entire life. The Pontiac as you can see doesn't compare to the condition of the Olds as the Pontiac was in a barn. When the car was removed from it's long time storage the tires were flat. The wheels on it now are off a later model Pontiac. I have the wheels that were removed and will come with the car as well. Also have the hubcaps and the radiator that someone tried to steal which was a common event in the last several years. If you ever wanted a 1962 Pontiac but didn't want to spend what others are asking this may be the one. $1.00 start price and no reserve. I do not have a price in mind but have the right to end the sale early if you cannot wait and wish to make an offer. Otherwise true sale high bid wins regardless of price. Please feel free to ask questions.
When asking questions please give me time to answer. I am currently in and out of the hospital having been diagnosed with cancer. I plan to list many more of my vehicles as I am able. When scheduling an appointment to see in person prior to the auction ending or when picking up the weekends are the best. If bidding please be responsible and considerate. I want closure and the very last thing I wish to do along with everything else going on is to deal with someone who is playing games. It takes time I simply do not have. It is very hard to hang items such as this with no start price and no reserve but my goal is to sell. Thanks for looking and check back. I do have many more vehicles to sell.
If you need a shipper I can provide or work with yours. Car rolls and steers easy to load. Selling as is and as seen and as pictured. Clear title in hand ready to roll. Please do your due diligence. I will not be held responsible for any incorrectness or errors or of something I might of unknowingly missed or stated incorrectly by mistake. Please be responsible and know what it is you are buying. Please have your finances straightened out prior to biding also have permission if needed. Can be inspected by appointment and is located in Ohio 45685.
Terms of sale a $500. non refundable deposit sent to me and must be received within three days after the sale. This is important. If you plan on picking up the car and paying in person that is fine. Cash on pickup in person. (minus the $500 deposit required)Deposit must STILL be sent and received prior to making any trip. Doesn't matter is you are 5 miles away or 5000 miles. Deposit is required.
NO PERSONAL CHECKS/NO PAYPAL. Cashiers check or USPS money order OK. Most just send payment and balance at the same time and that is fine. Payment in full must be received within 7 days. Bank or cashier check or bank wire OK Cash minus deposit in person.
To sum it up. This is a 53 year oldproject thatis non running in its present condition. It needs a total restoration and everything to be mint if that is the condition you are looking for.It is typical and in most cases above average for an unrestored 53 year old vehicle. Do your inspections prior to bidding. Can be viewed by a scheduled appointment only. It is located in Ohio 45685.Thanks and good luck and please some friendly advice. Take the time. Go to your doctor. Get checkups often even when you are NOT sick. I wasn't. I have never smoked or drankalcoholand always tried to do the right thing. It may save your life.Failure to do so could see your estate sell right before you.....or worse.
