1970 Pontiac Firebird 400 (Esprit model)
I’m the second owner (for one month only) but basically it’s a One owner car since 1970!!! I have all the documents including the original Bill of Sale and warranty sticker.
The Esprit model was the luxury model and it had all the goodies, including big block 400, automatic transmission, AC, beautiful interior (console), disk brakes, and more.
It is not a number matching car. The motor was replaced sometime during the 80’s. The previous owner told me the same engine size installed.
The odometer shows 165,000 Miles, but as far as I know the engine replaced when it was 80,000 miles.
Car is very solid. I would expect for more rust but there isn’t much. rust can be found on the rear quarter panels, under the doors (not the doors itself – they are very solid) and a bit in the trunk (above the gas tank, but not in the fenders – Fenders and trunk area very clean). please checkthe pictures. they show all the rust I could find.
The floor is in great shape and I couldn't find rust at all. It's a true barn find!!
Very important: Car is super stock and never abused, raced or modify. (still have the original Exhaust(!) Original 8 track radio(!!), etc.)
This Firebird is a perfect example for a car that you can restore while drive it. Perfect candidate for 455HO Trans Am.
You will have to tow the car for the following reasons:
1. Front tires are dry
2. Battery need to be replace
3. Leak in the radiator
That about it.
Make no mistake it does need restoration but your starting point is really great compare to other example out there. It's all there and complete.
Waiting for a new home.
Clear FL TITLE in hand.
Please don’t bid if you don’t plan to buy the car.
I encourage to come and look at the car if you are a serious buyer.
