1986 Pontiac Fiero GT Description

This 86 Fiero GT is in excellent condition. I have been slowly restoring it over several years. The car runs well and is very fun to drive with the 3.4 engine and the Quad-4 transmission gearing. Unfortunately, I have some other competing projects and must sell it. I have done extensive work on the car and have included some pictures here of the process. During the restoration, I replaced just about every component I could buy new, and many other components were replaced with original components found to be in better condition. The car has about 5,000 miles since the work started. The car passes smog inspection with no problems and I will provide a smog certificate to California buyers.

Here is some of the many things I have done:

Engine:

Rebuilt Camaro 3.4 with mostly stock components.

Crane HMV260 cam

Injectors: Accel 150617, 17lbs per hr.

Crane roller rocker arms

New front cover and oil pan

Ported heads matched to intake and exhaust manifolds.

Ported throttle body

New EGR valve and tube.

New water pump

Rebuilt Alternater

Rebuilt Late model 3.8 mini high-output starter

Powder coated intake manifold, valve covers, and pulleys.

Drive Train:

New quad 4 transmission with 3.94:1 FDR mated to 60’V6 style bellhousing

Last of the available new factory input shaft seals

New shift cables

Rodney Dickman short shifter

New half shafts

New clutch and through-out bearing

Interior:

Rebuilt steering column, New seats, New carpet, New headliner, Autometer gauges, and new steering wheel.

Suspension:

All arms, springs, and major components powder coated, All wearing components replaced, Rebuilt rack and pinion.

Additional Items: New brake rotors, pads and lines, Brake calipers rebuilt, New emergency break cable,s

New exhaust system, Exhaust manifolds and header pipe ceramic coated inside and out, New Magnaflow catalytic converter, New wheels and tires Bf Goodrich tires, New fuel pump, Restored tail lamp assemblies with very rare new lenses, new side light lenses and trim pieces, new emblems

Despite my extensive efforts, The car does have some issues:

The new paint job is very rough and there are runs. I have painted many cars, and to be quite honest, this paint job is quite a disappointment. It could be sanded and polished to look better or repainted at a later date. For now, it looks pretty good from about 20’ away with my eyes anyways.

The windshield wiper switch is not functional as I was planning to relocate it to a knob on the gauge panel to use metal turn signal.

The replacement fuel sending unit only indicates up to about 7/8 full on gauge and may read as high as ¼ full when empty.

Autometer Volt meter sticks to zero sometimes.

New oil pan has small leaks at each end, but seals are fine.

Car does not any longer have air-conditioning.

I have not replaced any of the glassor the radiator, but they are functional. Glass does have some scratches and small chips.

I encourage any interested party to come look at the car before bidding or buying as I fully expect buyer to complete the transaction. Car is sold As Is and I require a $500 non-refundable deposit through Pay Pal within 24 hours of winning the auction. The remaining payment should be in cash upon delivery. You may make an additional partial or full payment through Pay Pal if you wish.
