1968 Pontiac Firebird Description

Here is a project I thought I'd get into about five years ago. By the tag the color I believe is AprilGold ( the light green looking color), Engine code is YJ 260392 , J177 back by distributor. I originally started out with the hopes of making just a summer everyday driver. I have now ran out money. Some of the things I have done to the car were over done and somecould have been done differently, But now it is what it is. Maybe someone with a little knowledge and an open mind could finish it into a nice car. The pictures show only the car project itself.I havea lot more to go with it(some new, someused parts, a lot of original emblems, other Pontiac wheelswithBFGtires, seats, glass, seals, trim, Nice firebird auto steeringcolumn, 67 Pontiac steering wheel, nice original firebird kick panels, bumpers, front fender wheels, glove box door, ash trays, inside panels, andmore. Iwill listwhat has been done tothe carthus far.The body parts I used were reproduction new parts froma variety of differentcompanies. The new partson the carare: Front fenders (both sides), Dash top, Complete cowl, Cowl vent cover, Outer rockers (both sides), Floors pans (both sides), Extensions below rear windows (both sides), Rear quarters (both sides), Rear outer wheel wells (both sides), Complete trunk floor, Side drop offs for trunk (both sides), Complete outer rear, Inner rear cross panel, Package tray, Trunk(deck lid), Trunk gutter, Body panel above deck lid, New gas tank &sending unit, New rear leaf springs & kits, Driver side frame (solid but could be more professional), New sub frame bushings, etc. etc.The doors are pretty solid but have been patch welded here & there. As for the engine, the engine ran very well.It has a Edelbrock Pontiac performer four barrel aluminum intake which it hadon it when I got it. Some of the few things done to the engine: New brass soft plugs, Original valve covers, different Quadrajet carb with rebuild, New timing chain & gears, Different timing cover with nice original earlier Pontiac numbered water pump plate inside, New water pump, etc. The transmission is a 350 turbo I believe withI think a 400 turbo torque converter ( I don't know why butthe carleaks transmission fluid - I've changed filter and gasket- still leaks- I'm thinking maybe the bigger converter?). The car has drum brakes all around. I've replaced with new shoe's & hardware. I have been over almost every square inch of the car and have patched up a few small rust spots here and there. When I replaced the rear quarters I used Evercoat body filler instead of lead at the seam. Other thanthat a few dents on the roof, a spot on the dash, a little on the front lower is the only filler I've put back onto the car so far. It has had hoursof work cleaning every square inch inside and out. This car is not perfect I know and some of the body panels may notline up the way they could and should (There has been some modification to some metal in some area's) Butthis car issolid and quite clean for what it is.I'm not trying to cover up anything. If you can come and view it in person that would be great. I am selling this car AS-IS be sure of what you are getting in to. I will not ship this car, buyer pick up only!
