MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this extremely rare matching numbers two owner 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. This actual mileage car was purchased new from Bill Swad Motors Sales, Van Nert, Ohio, where it spent it’s entire life… including the factory where it was assembled!

The Trans Am was a specialty package for the Firebird, typically upgrading handling, suspension and horsepower, as well as minor appearance modifications such as exclusive hoods, spoilers, fog lights and wheels. In using the name Trans Am, a registered trademark. Four distinct generations were produced between 1969 and 2002.

Finished in a fresh deep Nocturne Blue metallic this coupe shows extremely well with only minor imperfections visible upon close inspection. All the trim is present, complete and displays normal wear. The body color matching front and rear bumpers fit is extremely tight and finish is exquisite. The weather-stripping is pliable, with little or no signs of drying, tearing or shrinkage. The car has a functioning Ram Air shocker flap with all the decals and badging complete and in excellent condition. The new Snowflake 15-inch wheels present extremely well.

Inside, the light blue crush velour bucket seats and rear seats appear with normal with only slight wear spots on the drivers seat’s outside bolster visible. The matching blue door panels, carpet and dashboard are a continuation of the striking dark blue exterior of the car and look fantastic. All gauges are ergonomically place have correct appearance and function as originally designed. The heater blower is inoperable. The originally equipped tilt steering wheel is in good condition and functions as designed, however the horn is inoperable. A Pioneer stereo was added with new front center speaker and rear 6×9 speakers. Included with this car is the original owner’s manual, performance accessories operating manuals and even the original build sheet!

This nicely presented Trans Am comes equipped with a matching number 403 cid, V8 engine, mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission, 750cfm Holley 4 barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Performer intake, Pertronix HEI distributor with new black Taylor 8mm wires, Flow Kooler water pump, fuel pump, Edelbrock Performer-Link timing chain, Summit high-capacity transmission pan, Summit differential support cover, B&M shift improver kit for transmission, Jet Hot ceramic coated headers and LED air fuel gauge oxygen sensor for fine tuning. A newer 2.5″ Flowmaster American Thunder complete exhaust system from headers to splitter tail pipes, power steering, power brakes, RTS (Radial Tuned Suspension) and posi-traction rear differential. The wheels are new 15-inch Snowflake original Pontiac alloys with performance radial tires.

Without question one of GMs most iconic models, the Trans Am immediately became synonymous with cutting edge styling, great handling and fantastic muscle car performance. This would be a welcome addition to any enthusiast’s collection! GET OUT AND DRIVE!
