1977 Pontiac Trans Am firebird Description

This all numbers matching 1977 Trans Am is spectacular condition and with only60,926 original miles. It is verified as correct by Pontiac Historical Services and comes with the PHS report. Very low mileage and original examples of the second generation Trans Am's are exceptionally difficult to find and draw a huge premium in the current market. It even still has the very rare factory 8-Track player. The low original mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car, but also from the clear Florida title taken off of the Ohio title showing the mileage as "Actual." The previous owner had the car repainted in the original color with new decals applied. This TransAm is finished in f Sterling Silver (13) with Red decals over Fire thorn Red Vinyl interior (71R). This is the correct and original color scheme as verified on the trim tag and PHS report. Please peruse all of the photos, video, and other information below to get a true sense of clean and nice this Trans Am really is. Please note that this Trans Am is "numbers matching." That means that the engine in the car is original and the same unit that was installed at the factory. The last six digits of the VIN, 195882, are stamped on the engine block and pictured below indicating that this is the original engine that was installed in the car brand new at the factory. The full stamping is "27N195882"and "2" indicates the Pontiac division of GM, the "7" is the model year, 1977, and the "N" is the plant where the car was produced, Norwood, OH. Also stamped on the block is the engine code"XA," which is correct for a 400ci L78 engine with an automatic transmission. The transmission is correct and original as well with the last six digits of the VIN stamped on the case and pictured below. The transmission date code is also pictured below, J7D01D. The J" is the plant code. The"7" is the model year, 1978. The "D" indicates the month, the "01" is the day of the month, and the "D" is the work shift so the transmission was made on April 1, 1977 during the day shift. The paint and interior trim codes are also correct for this color combination and pictured below on the trim tag. This Trans Am rolled off the assemble line during the third week of April in 1977 (04C). I recently put in a new correct color hoodliner (same as original). The parking brake was old & rusty and didn't work, so I had that replaced by local mechanic. Transmission fluid was leaking, so I had the trans dropped and new seals, gaskets, fluid installed by a local transmission mechanic.
