1977 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX BARN FIND SURVIVOR ORIGINAL UNRESTORED CALIFORNIA CAR
1977 Pontiac Grand Prix Description
Offered for your consideration is this super clean original and unrestored 1977 Pontiac Grand Prix. This fine example of a southern california survivor is being sold with a clear CA title with no Fees or Liens. Recently awoken from a 17 year hibernation where it sat parked in a Garage here in So Cal. This car was purchased from the original owner who purchased it new in December 1976 from Tom Ray Pontiac in Glendale. It was used exclusively for twice monthly runs from the family home in La Crescenta to there friends Casino in Las Vegas, over the course of 10 years the car clocked up 91,000 highway miles. In 1987 the owner passed away, the widow barely used the car from then and 1999 was the last time it was registered for the street (since then a Non-Op was filed at the DMV yearly until now). I was informed that sometime during this period the engine was rebuilt but it was done on the side by a friend who worked at Rays Dealership and there is no paper work to back up any work performed. This car was the couple's pride and joy, beach towels would be laid over the seats to protect the upholstery! I purchased the car from the surviving daughter who told me the story of this fine car. This is the LJ Grand Prix fitted with the 403 V8 Olds Engine. It comes with Power Steering, Power Brakes, Tilt Wheel, Cruise Control, 8-Track stereo with speakers front and back, upgraded upholstery with a 60/40 split front Bench. Original Mandarin Orange Paint is in great shape, a very straight car with no fading. No fading anywhere to the pin striping. There are small paint chips and a few dings but nothing too major, small dings on the stainless trim around the wheel arches. Chrome and Stainless all looks excellent. No pitting in the chrome, no rust on the car! Original Rally Rims are excellent matching the body paint. Tires are old but still hold air with no checking or other sidewall damage. Vinyl top is still in top shape. Buckskin Interior is super clean, headliner is perfect as is the Dash Cover, no cracks. Seat offers a very nice profile and provides good comfort, and the carpet is plush. All glass is very clean with one tiny chip in the front shield. Split back window is excellent. Trunk is super clean with the spare Wheel and Jack. The Car runs and drives nicely, i have only driven it locally to check it out. Since the awakening the Water Pump was replaces as well as the Radiator was cleaned out, the heater core has been bypassed and will require replacing ($75.00 part). All lights function as they should, stereo sounds great! AC Blows cold. All Decals still in place. Clock works intermittently for the most part it does not work. Overall the Car presents itself very nicely with nominal wear you would expect from a car of this age. The car comes with a stack of maintenance records as well as original owners manuals, trim option and accessory brochures, Motorola manual and more as well as the original 2 sets of keys. Please take the time to study the photographs below as these show the bike very clearly. Currently non-opped at the DMV so no back fees. Please email with any questions that you have.
