This burgundy GTO is a great running car. It has a few minor issues so the price reflects this. It has a 400 cubic inch engine out of a 1968 Pontiac Catalina. It has been aligned honed and bored .30 over. It has an MSD ignition setup with new wires and plugs. The transmission is a Muncie 4 speed that was recently rebuilt and the Hurst shifter was recently rebuilt and still needs a little break in period, but functions very well, just a little tight into 2nd. Gear. Manual brakes and steering. The electrical system is in good shape, the blower and window wipers and all else work well, except the dome light and console lamp.
The car was originally gold and in now burgundy pearl. There are 2 coats sanding primer, 2 coats paint and 2 coats of clear.
There is a rust spot the size of a quarter coming through on the top of the rear left quarter panel seen in photo and a couple small scratches in the paint. I have the correct touch-up paint and have used it to wet sand several small chips from gravel from time to time, but I just haven't gotten to it yet.
In full discloser it has a couple small chips and rust that need to be fixed, but 10 years ago it had a little rust cut out and repaired. Floorboards and trunk are in very good condition no rust the last time I checked.
It has an Edelbrock 750 4 barrel carburetor that works well but if it is not driven weekly the bowls seem to dry up and the car needs a little primer to get it started after a long time sitting in the garage. After it gets started it runs very well and from day to day will start fine.
I have the wheel and running board trim but they need some cleaning and etc. I also have many parts, window vents and etc. that can come with the car. I’m looking to upgrade my collection is the only reason I’m putting this car up for sale.

On Nov-14-17 at 12:51:46 PST, seller added the following information:Engine code looks like YD
as in 080492 YD
I was told the engine came out of a '68 Catalina, but I looked in a book I've got and a YD is not listed for a '68 Pontiac. It is listed for a '69 400 block.
So it looks to me like a '69 400. But I'm no expert. I had it bored 30 over and it now has a Crower Baja Beast cam in it that really improved the power off the line. It has plenty of get up and go now.
