1965 Pontiac Tempest Description

Street-Strip 1965 Pontiac Tempest with 1973 GTO motor (4 bolt main). This car was designed to be drivable on the street (street legal) and still be dominant on the strip. This car will out-run any stock new car under $250,000 in the quarter. This cars driveline is strong. The motor has 600 miles on it, the Trans has about 700 miles. This car has done 3 low-power passes to tune it after 3 dyno runsfor tuning . Once the timing was set and power was made, has not done any passes (needs new front tires). This is not an abused car, I am unable to utilize the car as much as I should with my work schedule and buying a new house, I can justify the car to the wife.

The ENGINE: Custom Made Butler Performance Pontiac 500 c.i. 640-680 Hp (600++TQ) gas motor (runs on premium). This car can switch with one button to E85 and gain more safe HP. 700HP possible with E85, but would not recommend those levels for longevity.

The Transmission: Art Carr TH-200-4R. Custom "Ultimate" edition good for 1,000 HP. Custom 9" 3,800 stall non-locking Torque Converter. B&M Ratchet Shifter (non-CO2).

The Rear End: Currie Built GM 12 bolt w/ aftermarket axels and Eaton "Super LSD" in 3.42 gearing (can be up to 3.73 with that carrier) disc brakes all around.

FUEL: Ez-EFI 2.0, enjoy the convenience of EFI! The EFL system can control everything on the car to include, nitrous (not equipped), timing, fans, water pumps (electric), fuel pressure and almost anything else.

Custom ported and matched Victor jr single plane intake with 1" spacer

Intake is matched to gasket, which is matched to the heads, whole set up was done in house at Butler Performance in TN. The partial heads with intake was ~$4,300 alone.

This was done bya previous owner and has a custom latch mechanism that holds it securely in place. In the rear corners of the roof section water can seep in past the weather stripping. The roll cage provides the structural ridgity along with a center support section.
