Pontiac created the "Special Edition" package as a set of options that included the famous black paint and gold accents starting in 1976. You see many Trans Ams that look that way, but many are not true Special Edition cars as equipped from the factory. Unless you have a build sheet or paperwork from Pontiac Historical Society that your Trans Am is a real Special Edition, you cannot prove it's heritage. This car is a TRUE Special Edition, and you will be proud to know that you are driving an original Bandit. Can you imagine pulling up to your high school reunion in this car?
The engine is the original numbers-matching Oldsmobile 403 and the transmission is the original TH350 automatic. The engine and trans have both been rebuilt, and it runs and shifts perfectly. It has plenty of power to cruise along at highway speeds. The big 403 has a ton of torque, so it doesn't even have to work very hard to get this car humming down the freeway. Mechanically the car is very sound and reliable. It just simply works great, and it sounds great through it's dual exhaust.
The interior is the beautiful and original Camel Tan with the deluxe custom option. The seat covers are all new, along with the carpet, headliner, and door panels. Everything works inside the car, except for the AC which is working but will need recharged. The car features the unique gold tint on both the gauge panel and on the steering wheel, as well as the golden firebird emblems, as was part of the Special Edition package.
The exterior of this car is where it REALLY shines, both figuratively and literally! Nothing screams 1970's musclecar like a Trans Am, with the huge Firebird on the hood, shaking hood scoop, blacked-out tail lights and golden snowflake wheels. This one features all the extra pinstriping that was part of the Special Edition package, and it looks great. The whole exterior is all brand new. The paint is new, the grilles are new, the wheels are all new. it's absolutely flawless. The car has zero rust anywhere, including underneath or inside the trunk. It is as solid as a rock, and clean as a whistle. There are no chips, no dents, no scratches.......just slick, reflective perfection everywhere you look. I guarantee you will be the star of the show anywhere you go in this beautiful Trans Am
