1979 pontiac y-84 special edition trans am
1979 Pontiac Trans Am Description
We have up for sale a beautiful restored y- 84 special edition trans am. I purchased this car from the second owner who bought it from his mother. I have all the original paperwork including the original dealer sales invoice from 1978! This car was bought at Broomall Pontiac Co. in Salem Ohio on 9/28/78. All the options are listed including special edition package for $1329.00 which is pretty crazy considering the base price was $6429.00. The engine has been completely rebuilt with receipt included. The transmission was also rebuilt with mild shift kit. The rear end was also gone through and checked and had the pinion seal replaced and includes a receipt also. The car has a very rare 241 posi rearend which is the smallest available. I honestly love driving this car, it just wants to "go" with that gear. Its fantastic on the highway, at 65 mph the tach is around 2300 rpm. The car drives like a car with 44,000 miles, very tight and smooth for being a 1979. The interior speaks for itself. Those are the original hobnail deluxe seats, not recovered! The seats are in amazing shape for being that old. they are not perfect, but positively nice enough for show. You can see in the one pict the piping on the side has some small cracks, but the cloth has no tears anywhere. The door panels, carpet, headliner, steering wheel, and door pulls are all brand new. The dash bezel wasprofessionally restored and tinted gold by R. Combs attransamdashbezels.com. The dash is original with no cracks and the original radio still mounted in it. I mounted a Pioneer cd player down in the map pocket so the dash was not cut up and ruined. Brand new 6x9 Pioneer speakers were mounted in the rear shelf also. The car has all new weatherstripping. The car has brand new BF Goodrich 245/60 tires mounted on beautifully restored snowflake wheels. These are the 8 inch rims that I put on the car because they look better. This car does not have the ws-6 option so it should have the 7 inch wide rims but most people like the look of the 8 inch better. I had a custom bent true dual exhaust put on the car with Walker quiet-flow mufflers. It sounds perfect, not to loud and there is no "drone" at any rpm. The car was painted with high quality PPG paints and primers. The black paint job is lazor straight and looks amazing. All new decals with the correct pre-molded pinstripes were then added and look amazing. This car can easily be taken to a car show with pride. I get nothing but compliments and thumbs up when I drive. I have some paint left over I will include for touch ups. The original t-top bags were in poor shape so brand new reproduction bags are included. I had the entire underneath of the car media blasted and painted chassis black. As you can see from the pictures it looks like a brand new car underneath with all new brake and fuel lines as well. There is too much new parts to list but all the receipts will tell how much care was put into this awesome car.The car is a joy to drive,No disappointments here other than the A/C recently started acting up. It still comes on but the clutch makes an intermittent noise? Probably needs replaced but I don't have the time right now. I have thousands in receipts included with the car. This one is ready for enjoyment! I will help with shipping if I need to meet with a transporter nearby. Payment will be cash in person or bank wire transfer. I cannot take any checks unless I went to the bank and verified the funds in person. What a world we live in where people try to pass fake certified bank checks? Sad but it happened to a friend of mine and he almost lost the car but the bank caught it. No reserve.
