1969 Pontiac GTO Description

This 1969 GTO is a restoration project still in original unrestored condition. It's an original California car that has been in southwest Oregon for the last 10 years.
The options this GTO is equipped with make it very unusual if not a very rare car. I've owned about 20 other GTO's over the years and have found this one to be the most unusually equipped one of them all.
Notable options are as follows:
Power WindowsPower Door LocksAir ConditioningPower Disc BrakesPower SteeringColumn Shift AutomaticDrivers Door Remote Control MirrorRally Clock
Also I believe this car originally came equipped with Hideaway Headlights. The car has had the front bumper and both front fenders changed out by a prior owner. The car currently has a standard headlight front Endura bumper. The special front lower valance panel grills for a hideaway headlight GTO were found in the glove box (they are in nice original condition).
The GTO is a factory Mayfair Maize Yellow with a Gold interior and front bucket seats.
The engine appears to be the original 400 cu. in. 350 HP. It has the YS code stamped on the front of the block, no VIN is stamped. Depending on the assembly plant, some engines this year installed in GTO's did not have the VIN stamped on the engine block. The build date for this car is the forth week of November 1968. The code for both cylinder heads is the correct #62 for this car with its engine transmission combination. The casting dates on the cylinder heads is correct for the build date of the car. The right cylinder head is K198 ( November 19, 1968), and the left cylinder head is K168 ( November 16, 1968). The engine does not appear to of ever been removed from the car. However, the engine is incomplete and in need of being rebuilt. The intake manifold and carburetor along with other misc. items from the top and front of the engine are missing. What is seen in the pictures on the engine and in the cars trunk is what comes with the car. Also the AC Compressor and its bracket are there. The window stainless moldings are with the car too.
The GTO's Transmission has been removed from the car by a prior owner and was placed in the trunk. The transmission is the original one to this car. The GTO's VIN is found stamped on the left side of the transmissions case. A picture of this is attached to this listing along with other pictures of the car and its parts.
The GTO has some surface rust over the outer body. The trunk floor has surface rust and some small holes which can be repaired easily. The rear trunk weather strip channel is rusted out and will need to be replaced. This area is being reproduced and is not hard to replace. The floor pans are good with minor rust issues. The pans do not need to be replaced, just repaired. The doors are nice along with the rear quarter panels, just minor work need to be done on those. the left front fender is good, but the right front fender should be replaced. Overall the body is sound with good fit to its panels.
The Endura bumper is straight and unbent but does need to be refinished.
The hood is original to this car and is in straight unbent condition, it is not kinked on either side. Straight undamaged GTO hoods are becoming difficult to find anymore !!
The interior is original including the carpeting. The lower rear back seat is in black and is not original to this car. The dash pad is original and in nice condition. The interior overall is weathered and needs to be restored. The interior AC parts including the vent system under the dash, are there and in place.
Even the original black and yellow California License plates are still with the car !!
I've tried to describe this GTO the best I could. It is a great candidate for a nice restoration and with its unusual options and color, it would make for an awesome unusual restored GTO at any show !
This Pontiac GTO is sold as is. It will come with a bill of sale and Lien paperwork from Oregon. The original California title is lost and an Oregon lien was performed on the car awhile back. The bill of sale and the lien paperwork will be provided with the car.
The car can be stored for a reasonable amount of time while waiting to have the car transported as agreed upon between the buyer and seller. I can assist in the loading of the car also.
Full payment by winning bidder must be received within 7 days from end of auction. If paying by check, the check must clear my bank before the vehicle can be moved. The payment must be in the exact amount of the winning bid....no over payment will be accepted, no scammers !!!Non performing bidders will be reported to Ebay and blocked from future bidding.
If you have any questions or need more photographs, please feel free to contact me. I'll try to answer any and all questions the best that I can.
Also I have not yet ordered the PHS documents on this car. The reserve amount I have placed on this car is reasonable and below market value for a GTO in this condition.

On Sep-19-19 at 19:24:29 PDT, seller added the following information:

Today I located the cars VIN stamped on the right front of the engine block in a vertical position more under the YS code stamp. The VIN stamped on the block does match the car's VIN, so it is the original engine block to the car. I also noticed the vacuum canister for the hideaway headlight option I believe the car came with, is still attached to the drivers side fender well up under the front of the left fender fender.
