1981 Porsche 928 Description

Here is a chance to own a classic 35 year old Porsche for a low price. The restoration has been started but I've lost interest and time. The car sat undriven for 10 years so the fuel system was drained, new fuel pump and fuel filter installed as well as a new battery. After all the fluids in the engine were replaced the engine is running smooth. The entire brake and clutch system were redone with new parts. The original phonedial wheels were strippe, painted and clear coated. New tires installed. The car now drives great. The seats and dash are craked from being exposed to the sun. The exterior paint is faded and there is minor surface rust in a couple of places. I still have the front power seats but they have been replaced by two new reclining racing seats. Items that need attention are the gauges, some work sometimes, some dont work. Sunroof motor seems to work but I'm affraid to open it. I don't have the manual handle in case it got stuck. The heater motor was working but today it did not.Radio does not work. I believe that since the car sat for so long some of the electrical connectors may need cleaning. Everything else works fine. It has power windows and power seats. Every light, turn signal, brake light works as it should. 5-speed transmission shifts good and the clutch holds great. It had no service records with it so I pulled the cover off the timing belt and it looked to be in very good condition. I believe these early engines were not interference engines so a broken belt doesn't mean the end of your motor. The previous owner had this car for 31 years. Reserve is set at what most basket case parts cars cost.
