1984 Porsche 928 Type S Description

Up for bid is a decent, (# 2 quality1984 Porsche 928 V8 automatic trans car that has just been serviced, new tires, new belts and has been painted. I bought this vehicle at an auction to play with and perhaps totally restore, ( I know very little about this type of vehicle, (Porsche) but thought it something I could have some fun working on. According to Hagerty Collectors car insurance company and other publications, the 928 is the next collectable Porsche which is another reason I decided to purchase this car. Other than starting the car and moving it from the transport into my garage I personally know little about the history of the car. For a car it's age it really is in pretty decent shape. It starts well, runs well and sounds great! I was also told it has just had a $2,400 service including timing belts. So why am I electing to sell this instead of restoring it. Good question with and easy answer. I love restoring old cars as a hobby. My true passion is older Corvette's, (1958 to 1982), Old Chevy, 55 through 67 pick up's and 55 through 64 cars. This is the reason I've decided to sell this Porsche. For a long time I've looked for a 1950 Chevy 3100 pickup. Not 2 weeks after I purchased the Porsche, a very nice restorable 1950 Chevy presented itself for a pricethat couldn't be passed upand I couldn't resist owning her. So with a 55 Chevy 210 in the works and now the 50 Chevy 3100 pickup, something has to go as I simply can't afford to do all 3 vehicles. I've attached many picture for you to look at. I've done nothing to the Porsche since I purchased it. Good news is there appears to be no leaks of any kind as when I moved it to take pictures there were no puddles or marks of any kind under the car, (unfortunately the same can't be said for the 50 pickup!).

I will state this, it is not a perfect car and before I personally put it on the road I would go over everything with a fine tooth comb. I do believe it is one of those vehicles that you could drive and have fun with while restoring or simply keep t like it is. I believe this car to be in sound mechanical shape and drivable as the previous owner told me he drove it to the auction which was over 150 miles away and had just had it fully serviced. It was tagged when I first looked at it. The seats work, mirrors work, (don't forget the spring on the drivers mirror) in and out using the switches, headlights pop up and work as does everything else I've looked at. According to everything I've read these 928's depending on condition should sell a poor condition 928 should sell for $10,300 to about $12,000. A good condition from $12,000 to as much as $18,000 and what is considered a great condition 928 from $18,000 to $30,000 or more. I personal would put this car somewhere in-between the first 2 categories. I've set a very reasonable reserve on this vehicle so if you're handy, like to work on cars, especially Porsche or just wish to drive one than this might be the vehicle for you.
