1985 Rolls-Royce Corniche Description

Very unusual continental-corniche convertible, this stunning Rolls-Royce configured Bentley, is finished in metallic black with hand painted gold fine-lines to the waist-rails. The interior is finished in rich biscuit tan Connolly hides with coordinating dark tan carpets throughout.

She was converted to a Bentley by a very enthusiastic owner. Every minute detail considered and attended to in great detail to not distinguish the factory version. A New Jersey collector owned this example for the first 18,000 miles till 2009, the car was then purchased by and enthusiast in Texas where it resided till 2015 and was then sold to a collector in New York with a recorded 26000 miles. The car has been meticulously maintained by its current owner and was recently fitted with new Avon rubber all round. The car will come with a fresh service and ready to enjoy for the summer.

This car is about as good as you'd expect to find and would rank as one of the nicest corniche II's available and the black and tan combination makers her quite stunning. She is a clear ten out of ten driver that needs nothing. You could take her as is to you next Rolls-Royce meet and receive accolades for her originality

Like all of Grand Prix Café's cars it is subject to our full work-shop and pre-delivery commissioning.
When this car is driven, it truly glides smoothly and effortlessly. Even over rough road surfaces, it displays no knocks, rattles or thumps – it is very “tight” indeed. The presentation under the hood is excellent it's a testimony to its well maintained and low mileage ownership.

The body and paint on the car is simply lovely. It does have only the very minor mark here and there (nothing objectionable) and mentioned only in an effort to maintain complete open disclosure. It is a clear 9 out of 10 and looks beautiful with nothing needing attending to.

The interior of the car is completely original with all the leather untouched and factory original. The wood throughout is also all original and in absolutely flawless condition - not a single mark or crack whatsoever. As a bonus, the burl walnut grain on this wood set is very defined and rich with a lot of “knots”. It looks magnificent. Carpets, dash and roof cover are all in perfect condition. In fact the carpets must have always been covered because they are truly like new. The original door featured cocktail sets are all in place with flasks and Tudor crystal glasses unused.

All features on the car work as they should. A/C is ice cold, heater is hot and climate control works as it should. All windows work, including the rear seat ¼ glasses which are famous for not working at all. Electric seats are working well and are not “tired”. All gauges are working, as are all the dash lights and interior lights. The convertible top on the car is in excellent shape and folds away without complications, and the rear window is completely clear. Showing the signs of a well housed and maintained car.

This is obviously not your average Corniche II convertible. But she's as clean as a whistle.

The car comes as you would expect, with its original hand-book and correct jack and tools. It even has the original instruction templates for the Climate Control (these are printed paper cards that were loosely attached to the unit controls so the new owner could easily learn how the system works and then remove them). Furthermore she comes with her original Rolls-Royce grill and emblems.
