1992 Saab 900 CONVERTIBLE Description

**Local Pick-Up or Buyer arranges for shipping**

I bought the car to restore however I’m at a location that does not have SAAB resources or expertise to help me so I’m posting it for sale.

CONS: It currently needs a clutch kit- Pressure plate and disk ($200) part. The flywheel is in great condition. I had an independent mechanic remove the clutch but could not source one to replace therefore the car is not operational. I have the clutch kit on order at the time of this listing but not sure if it is the right part however I do have a new slave cylinder in the trunk.

- The Air bag light is on because I had dash light bulbs replaced and the guy took the steering wheel off before disconnecting the battery and it tripped the air bag sensor. It requires a SAAB dealership to reset the light.

- The Hood release cable was replaced however it is loose and therefore needs adjustment. The only way to open the hood is through the front of the car hence the reason why I have the grille off for the moment

- The turn signal handle, when turning left or right, stays up/down and therefore does not move back into position when the steering goes back to straight position. It’s common for this age of vehicle.

- No A/C. The compressor is not installed. It was missing when I bought it. However, the car was converted to R-134 before the compressor was removed.

- Cruise control does not work

- Trim is missing on the sides

- Automatic antenna is stuck in up position however the motor cycles on and off when the car/radio is turned off and on. Just need a new antenna mast

PROS:

- Rust free body but appears to be original paint. I replaced the hood Saab emblems

- new premium tires (Pirellis) with nitrogen fill including the spare tire

- new battery (premium)

- new spark plugs and wires, Idle air control valve (IAC), exhaust manifold gasket, Synthetic Oil, and long life filter, fuel filter

- upgraded stereo system with detachable face,

- New Front/Rear ceramic brakes and slotted rotors

- New Front/Rear premium shocks.

- Convertible top is 3yrs old and is in perfect working order. Must have emergency brake on in order to operate it (SAAB safety feature)

- New Alternator and belts and bushings.

- I do have the Red Auto repair manual for it as well.

Note: The car has not been operational for 2 mos because the local mechanic has had problems matching a clutch to the vehicle with VIN #. The current clutch that was removed is a TYP 210X MF 228, however for that year make and model, all the mechanic shops show is that it should be a different clutch. Being the clutch has been removed, the brake fluid has been drained as well as the anti-freeze. I have new bottles of the replacement brake fluid in the trunk (synthetic DOT 4). Once again, everything was operational, no leaks, convertible works, etc,…except that the clutch is out. The automotive shop was going to charge me $500 to install the clutch however, we could not get the right clutch.

Update:
- New Clutch kit arrived and appears to be the fit to replace the old. I will have the old clutch and new clutch in the car trunk and will be included in the auction.
- Slave cylinder hose was capped in order to keep brake fluid in the system. It was not drained out like I thought it was. The fluid was so clear that I thought the reservoir was empty. Therefore, there is 3/4 full brake fluid in the reservoir thus brakes are operational. Emergency brake is fully functional for vehicle transport.
- I have additional photos available upon request. Ebay doesn't allow me to post anymore than what i have since i'm not a dealer. Just send me a message through here and i'll email.

- For those who have asked: The white spots on the convertible roof top is Geese poop, the white mark on the right lower panel near the tire is Geese poop- yes, they do poop sideways when migrating..lol- The windshield has no chips or cracks- The charcoal canister for emissions has been replaced and is new although oklahoma city doesn't require emissions inspection.- The front grille is in the trunk- The OEM car jack is in the trunk as well as a set of snow chains for the front drive wheels- No check engine light- All 4 windows are powered and in working condition- The car is garaged kept and I'm a non-smoker therefore hasn't been smoked in during my ownership. No evidence of cigarette odor.- I charged the 5 month old Duracell 775 CCA battery. I uploaded photos to show the automatic convertible top in the lowered position and operational.- I put the lid back on the spark plug area. They are new platinum+iridium as well as powermax spark plug wires and ignition coil.- The windshield wipers are newer premium all weather.- I replaced the interior and trunk lights with LED bulbs. I have the LED bulbs for the rear brake panel lights but never installed. Of course, All those bulbs will be in a baggy in the trunk.- I have an original European SAAB licence plate for the front since oklahoma doesn't require a front tag.- The radio is HD and has a detachable face which I will put in the glove box and lock it up or put in the trunk for safety during transport. It also ha an ipod connection that was routed to the glove box. The light in the box was removed to put the ipod connection. I don't use ipod, so, the cable is tucked back behind the radio. All someone needs to do is pull the radio out a find the connector and route it back through the glove box. No wiring required just fishing the connector back through..
