This 1964 Saab 96 was built in to be a race car in 2009 for long-time Saab racer Bill Thew. The car features a three-cylinder two-stroke built by Tom Donney with 72.5mm Wiseco pistons, triple Solex carburetors, stage two porting, and an electric water pump. The engine is paired with a 4-speed column-shifted manual and the car features a roll cage, Wilwood front brakes, widened front soccer ball wheels, and a trunk-mounted fuel cell. Current belts. The car was repaintedin white when it was converted to a race car. Saab graphics are worn on both rear flanks and a front valance is equipped.
Saab soccer ball style wheels are fitted at the rear, and custom widened soccer balls with a steel outer section are fitted at the front. Wilwood front brakes are fitted, which are legal for vintage racing.
