1939 Studebaker Pickup Restomod Description

Featuring a great looking exterior, a fresh and powerful drivetrain, as well as an inspired combination of vintage and contemporary components, this 1939 Studebaker Pickup restomod is one very cool truck. With just a little over 6000 miles logged since its build, it's ready to provide its next lucky owner with years of happy motoring while it exudes its strong curb appeal to admiring onlookers.
Even on its own, the purple color and silver ghost flames would create some serious visual impact, but on a vehicle this magnetically singular, their effect is amplified. A great blending of custom bodywork applied to an already unique model has rendered this truly one of a kind truck, yet if you look closely and compare it to unmodified Studebaker trucks that rolled off the assembly line just before World War II, you'll see that it honors the original design, as well. Both the front and rear wheel wells are far more aggressive and the overall countenance more intimidating than they were in stock form - and the partitioned front windshield has given way to a more sloping, one-piece counterpart - but the pronounced curvature of the nose and shape of the cabin hasn't strayed far, leaving you with the conclusion that Studebaker came up with one awesome design for their truck nearly 80 years back. The sculpture-like, handmade stainless-steel grille now adorning the front of this truck is a veritable conversation piece in its own right.
A well-planned and comfortable gray interior sits inside. The two high-backed bucket seats straddling a custom center console are well-padded and supportive, blending in perfectly - both in color and style - with their surroundings. To each side, the door panels have creatively inverted the exterior's ghost flame pattern to great effect. Considering just how much visual impact this vehicle carries, this is a surprisingly functional interior as well: the tilt column offers a lot of adjustability to find just the right driving position, the floor shifter is positioned within easy reach, and it's equipped with power windows and remote door openers, as well as an air conditioning system that's working well to keep you and your passenger comfortable. A Pioneer AM/FM/CD player sits front and center on the dash to provide your driving soundtrack. The aggressively contoured bed area in back features a pneumatically-assisted cover that makes it easy to raise, and when you do so, you'll find that the bed floor is lined with well-finished wood paneling, held in place by stainless steel ribbing.
The drivetrain features a great mix of power and dependability. A GM 350 cubic inch crate engine sits in the very nicely organized engine bay - sporting a pair of Edelbrock aluminum heads and carrying a 4-barrel carb on top, it's capable of churning out 350 horsepower. The V8 starts easily, is running nice and smooth, and is paired with a 700r4 4 speed automatic overdrive transmission well-suited for both good off the line acceleration and low RPM cruising at highway speeds. A Chevy C10 truck chassis sits in place of the Studebaker original to provide markedly increased strength and power-handling capabilities. With airbag suspension in both front and rear, you'll have all the ride adjustability you could want. This truly inspired and well-outfitted custom truck sits on a set of 15" Body Coddington wheels, wrapped with BF Goodrich T/A radials.
