1988 Subaru GL 2 Door Hatchback Antique - Rare
Original Owner –
Included: Original Owner’s manual, plus complete Haynes Automotive Repair Manual, and Chilton Repair and Tune-up Guide.
Well cared for while driven. Oil changed every 3000 miles.
Would need work to make road ready.
At minimum it would require:
Fluids to be drained and replaced.
New brakes, tires, battery, and probably a battery cable.
I got a new car and this one became a secondary vehicle. It had issues with the battery cable and the battery would not hold a charge, otherwise the engine and everything else worked fine when it was parked. I cranked it often at first and it always turned over and idled well, but it has not been cranked in a while now. The body has some areas of rust, and the front window has a hair-line crack in it (see photos). The upholstery has worn and faded over the years and it is hard to say whether or not it could be cleaned, or if the inside would need to be refurbished. I believe you could go either way with this car. You could invest just enough money to make it your vintage around town car, or if you are a collector this would make a great vehicle to restore as your personal antique Subaru ride, or possibly for profit.
More specifics:
