1990 Toyota Land Cruiser Description
As with everyone else, it pains me to do this. Family is growing, so the fleet is shrinking. Love this truck, but just had our fourth child so need to sell and go bigger. Sad days. With that said...
What we have here is a 1990 FJ62 with a 5.3 chevy vortec with matching auto tranny from an '01 silverado, a 4" lift, and a ton of extras. The work was done by TLC (swaps alone here are usually 40k up) and another shop and I have done a bunch of upgrades as well through one of my local shops that specializes in Land Cruisers and Land Rovers. I will start with an overall description and then roll into the specific upgrades. The PO installed a sunroof that has since been caulked shut but still allows a nice view, and doesn't leak. The truck will come with a folder of reciepts totaling over $60k and various build info.
This truck is solid, doors sound good when they close and the truck spent it's entire life out West until 2.5 years ago when it came East, so it is virtually rust free. It runs and drives perfectly. Never have any issues and drive it quite often. It has tons of power, for anyone who has owned an FJ60/62 before they know how slow they are and what a pain they are to get on/off freeway etc. Don't have to worry about that now, the 5.3 gets up and goes. Its awesome!
Exterior: Overall total headturner, people stop me all of the time. Paint is in really good shape overall, but I like to be honest about stuff and so here are a few things I would fix. Two dings on hood and one on front fender near the bumper. If it doesn't sell during this listing I am going to have those fixed. Also, there is a little bubbling near the rear window wiper (assuming old leak that held some water). Also, the side mirrors could use a repaint. Pretty small stuff overall. Last thing is the undercarriage. Bit of surface rust, but nothing to worry about. Will do undercarriage treatment this fall if the truck doesn't sell or that becomes part of the sale.
Interior: Seats are in amazing shape. Gauges are ridiculously cool as is the alpine set up. Dash is great and no rips or tears anywhere in the interior. If I were to change anything it would be a freshen up of headliner and front carpet. The changeover to the 5.3l left a small hole where the old shifter was. Just haven't gotten around to it yet. Door panels are in great shape and everything works. Heat and AC are both good to go.
