For sale this well maintained, refreshened, 1985 Toyota FJ60, factory blue survivor comes with 206,000 miles. It runs great on and off-road, cruising smoothly at 65mph. *No drips/leaks from pan, diffs, etc. You can park it in the garage!
4.2 liter original 2F/4WD/4-speed. Weber carb connected to OEM air filter housing via The Landcruiser Shop (https://www.thelandcruisershop.com/) spacing adaptor kit, so it runs better than the original factory set-up, and better than it would with only the weber carb, while still carrying the factory appearance. Purchased out of New Mexico in 2018. This 95% rust free FJ60 has a new driver seat bottom cushion and cover, distributor, plugs/wires, windshield, dashcap, new sidemarkers/lenses, etc, and added inclinometer(see pic). We went through and replaced or repaired most small items that could be fixed, while leaving items that show normal wear/function/patina. This vehicle is 33 years/5mths old, so there are also aspects of imperfection. The underbelly is in great shape.
The front cabin is finished in factory gray vinyl and blue striped fabric. The rear factory heater is equipped under the passenger front seat. Stock instrumentation includes an 85 mph the speedometer and a 6-digit odometer which shows 206K miles.
Driver seat you ask? We replaced the bottom with a NEW cushion and cover. It is awesome. The upper has an uncommon 3” tear toward the top and we sewed and sealed that for now.
Rear carpet was rough and we removed it for new, or customization. The other carpet and seats, other than the driver’s seat bottom, show 33 years of dirt as we have not had the dirt professionally extracted.
The exterior bottom chrome strips were not yet re-applied in the pictures as we ordered all new clips for them.
The driver side seat belt is functional but obviously worn more than the passenger side.
The center console is faded but clean and functional with the restrictive wire in place.
The hood no longer has the insulating inner liner, and has a dent and one small ding, so we are installing a new factory blue hood on Monday.
The stock wheels have been polished and are in good condition, showing standard chrome wear.
We shipped in a factory inclinometer as we thought it to be a great accessory.
Original owner’s manual, toolkit and jack.
Headliner in great shape other than a couple of previous speaker bolt holes in the back. Center dome light cap has been newly replaced. The rear dome light is replaced/new.
The truck runs comfortably at all speeds, shifts between all gears smoothly and transfers effortlessly into 4WD. A/C came factory but the parts are missing.Yes heater
Title is clear.
I will include some pics of imperfections. Body is in good to great shape as our Certified Auto Body professional of 30 years repaired a couple of more significant dings around the tail lights. There is no rust repair on this body as it came mostly from dry climate. To reiterate, the drip rail, tailgate, rear quarters, bottom of doors, all of the typical area's, NO rust. The gallery at the dropbox link above includes several additional photo’s, including some underbelly shots.
This vehicle is gorgeous and will be a turn-key pleasure to drive for the FJ enthusiast and purist, or a great canvas for someone wanting to make it elite, a trail rig, etc. There is nothing to hide. We have done thorough sales comparisons in order to set a fair reserve. If you make the reserve you can choose a new ARB Bull bumper(pictured), or we’ll put a good stock bumper on. This is not a NEW car, so do not set yourself up with that expectation. It is a clean, fun, refreshed, playful head-turner.We welcome all clarifying questions and want the buyer to be pleased with their purchase.
Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
