1977 Toyota Land Cruiser . Condition is Used.
This wasa personal project, I didn’t want to sell the car initially; My plan was to keepit, but things changed at home and now need the space and the money I put onit. I really have enjoyed my weekends driving it and spending time doing mechanics(by replacing parts and accessories) on it. I really love this FJ40,it has a nice paint work, runs smoothly with the power steering, and the torque– power coming from its 2F engine can be felt all way around. What do I like themost? When I drive it around and always get eyes on me, people steering at thecar, waving or giving thumb-ups, or telling me (at the red light) “how in good shape this car is!”
Final comment before getting in to details, and as described below, engine was refurbished in late 2018 and complete paint work was done as well (early 2019);Badges are aligned with SA production. Under my ownership more than few improvements were done as well, keeping the car as original as possible with outgoing to a full restoration, as is honestly shown here.
I bought this 1977 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 from his first owner (who bought it new in South America - Venezuela); I purchased my FJ-40 there before being imported to the US in October 2019. The truck is finished in brown (Pollux Orange) over a gray interior, and power comes from a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a two-speed transfer case. Modifications done include power steering and later front seats with patterned cloth inserts. Under my ownership I installed: new wheels, wheel capsand tires, badges, headlights, spark plugs, filters, starter, and other components. This FJ40 is offered with Venezuelan registration paperwork, import documentation, and a clean Texas title under my name.
The truck has been repainted in a shade similar to factory Pollux Orange in Venezuela in early 2019. Additional paintwork on the fenders was carried out here in the States, after I replaced the previously mounted wrong badges (FJ60) with the correct FJ40 versions in January 2020. A new horn and headlights were also installed.Walk-aroundandturnsignaldemonstration videos have been provided bellow for your review.

Black 15″ steel wheels with factory-style hubcap shave been installed along with BF Goodrich Rugged Terrain T/A tires that were installed in December 2019. A matching spare is mounted out back. A hydraulic power steering system was installed under previous ownership and works perfectly with no leaks.
The interior features modern front seats with patterned clothinserts installed as well as a gray dash pad, door panels, and rear troop seatupholstery. Some wear is noted on the driver’s seat, and seat beltsare not present.
The 4.2-liter 2F inline-six features a single downdraft carburetor and was refurbished in Venezuela in late 2018, based on the paperwork provided from original owner. New spark plugs and ignition wires were installed under my ownership, and new fuel and air filters were added along with an oil/filter change in December 2019. Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels via a four-speed manual transmission and a two-speed transfer case. Driving and cold-start videos are viewable below.
A factory steering wheel frames instruments including a 160-kph speedometer and gauges for oil pressure, fuel level, coolant temperature, and amperage. Just over 35k kilometres(~22k miles) are shown on the five-digit odometer. The speedometer is inoperable, and total mileage is unknown.
