1972 TR6 with Rebuilt Motor & 5 Speed Transmission
1972 Triumph TR-6 Base Description
This car is a 'drive it anywhere' car. We drove it from Milwaukee to Vermont and back,1800 miles in June of 2016. With the five speed it can comfortably be driven at freeway speeds.
Almost everything mechanical has been replaced or rebuilt.The engine was rebuilt over the 2014/15 winter, the radiator was recored, the starter was rebuilt and the exhaust manifold was ceramic coated. The total cost was $4300 and the car has 6,500 miles since the rebuild.
The Toyota transmission and conversion kit (bell housing, shifter, clutch plate, etc) were installed in the summer of 2013 at a total cost of $2500.
In addition, over the last four years, The following work has been done:
2013 - visors, floor mats, tonneau cover, five speed conversion installed
2014 - Sway bar bushings and links, steering boots, fan belt, tune up, alternator rebuild.
2015 - Fuel pump, brake master cylinder, brake servo.
2016 - convertible top, tires, clutch master and slave cylinders, clutch plate and release bearing, boot (not yet fitted), lock set (not installed).
The total cost of all work done was $11,450.
