1978 Triumph Spitfire Converible Description

Up for auction is a 1978 Triumph Spitfire. This is a rare Factory overdrive car and they don't come up for sale very often. She's had major dollars spent on her andI'll make every effort to detail everything about the car so all interested will be fully informed prior to making an offer. This is you chance to get a solid straight forward Triumph Spitfire well below the current market value.Make no mistakeshe is selling this week to the highest / last bidder. Much has been done to the car so please take time to read the auction in its entirety. Overdrive: Yes this nice Spitfire sports the rare and highly sought after factory overdrive transmission. And yes it's in working order. Makes for better highway driving and a longer engine life. Mechanicals:The car runsgreat. Starts right up with no issues, smoke or ticking noises that I can detect. The car was justserviced with a complete tune up, oil change and new air filter. Other new items include a new clutch kit, new clutch master cylinder, new clutch slave cylinder, new fuel sending unit, rebuilt carburetor, new valve cover gasket, new temperature sending unit, new battery, new horn and some new new interior switches. The engine had a complete engine rebuild about 5k miles ago. I have no documentation of the rebuild but based on running condition and visual inspection I'd say it was done. Engine is drum tight with no fluid leaks I can see anywhere under the car ( Don't see / hear that very often on British cars of this year ).
Exterior:The car shows well in the photos and presents herself well in person but she should still be considered driver quality as not to disappoint at time of pick up / delivery. Zero rust or rust repairs on the car that I cane find. Very straight body and chrome / bumpers as seen in the photos. She sports a new soft top, new outer window seals, new chrome door snaps, refinished wheels, new wheels center caps, new wheel center cap Triumph logo decals, new chrome wheels trim rings wrapped in like new radial tires.
Electrical's:This area is in exceptional condition. The front / rear running lights work, front / rearturn signals work, front / rear side markers work, headlights work, brake lights work, back up lights work, wipers work, blower fan works and the licence plate lights work. Just replaced several of the switches and relays. Note: Stereo is old and should be replaced and can do that for you prior to shipping if you'd like. Gauges:All gauges are correct"Smith" brand and appear to be in working order at this time. Soft Top:The soft is only a few months old and was professionally fitted and installed installed. Interior:The interior is in nice condition as seen in the photos. Trunk:The trunk is rock solid. Underbody:The underbody is in very, very good condition as seen in the photo. No signs of rust or rust repairs Shipping:If you need to have the car shipped to your location here in the states you can get a fast and free online quote from Able Auto Transport at: http://www.ableautotransport.com/ Overseas Bidders:Yes the auction is open to overseas bidders and if you need to ship overseas try Schumacher Cargo Logisticsshipping for fast free quotes ( http://www.schumachercargo.com/ ).
In Closing:The abovedescriptionis my observations and opinions and they very from person to person so ask all questions prior to bidding. If I have missed anything in the cars description it was not my intention so please ask for as much detail as you need to make an informed decision on the car prior to bidding.Don't want the winning bidder saying afterwards well you missed this or that. Be a responsible bidder and ask all questions prior to bidding I'm not an expert and my opinion ofthe car may vary from yours so please look at the photos closely and if you need more information or any extra photos please ask prior to bidding. I know how hard it is to purchase a car online so please ask any and all questions you have prior to bidding or if you can come see and drive the car for yourself ( I really encourage you to do so ) as I want the winning bidder to be satisfied with the car when it arrives. She's very much original so you should expect a 41 year old car when she arrives at your home but with much, much work completed. Due to the cars age and having no way to warranty the carI'm selling heras in "as is" condition and mileage exempt.A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of auctions end.
