1962 Triumph TR4 - NO RESERVE

Sold new to Mr. Loffredo on September 25, 1962 by Standard Triumph in Coventry England. Purpose built to full American specification with U.K. lights fitted with Ward and Goldstone Adapters.

Mr. Loffredo purchased this car brand new in England where he was based as the international service engineer with Delco (General Motors). On October 23, 1963 car was shipped to the United States. Full documentation including the shipping order form, receipts, manifest, and other related documents. This numbers matching TR4 features the original body, original born in engine and has clocked only 46,856 miles. The original invoice still accompanies this British sports car along with prior registration documents and papers.

Nick (Mr. Loffredo), had a special passion for classic English sports cars, especially Triumphs and Jaguars. Back in the day when Nick was stationed in England, a young rocker by the name of Mick Jagger pulled up next to and stopped Nick at a country-side intersection. The young rocker was especially proud of his pristine Triumph, TR3 featuring the British flag embellishment; only to be outdone by this clever Yank sporting the new and more powerful Triumph, TR4. Nick could certainly move like Jagger, only faster. Nick is also a veteran of the Korean War.

General Motors - Delco Electronics was blessed to have Nick work his entire engineering career for them, culminating in his retirement in 1992. Nick was a truly outstanding, talented, and valuable employee as evident by his survival of multiple business cycle downturns. He was always an integral member of the Delco avionics business. In the early portion of his career Nick was an England based international service engineer maintaining around the clock functional state surveillance on missile systems sold to NATO as part of their strategic European defense program. Upon his return to Milwaukee, Nick's duties included coordinating Apollo Space Program electronic hardware readiness, and later managing Delco factory service and repair of the Carousel Inertial Navigation Systems featured on the Boeing 747 aircraft. Due to his intellectual curiosity, drive to solve complex problems, cleverness, and ability to strive and achieve perfection; throughout his career, Nick was assigned many special projects outside the scope of his job description. One example is the Carousel Inertial Navigation Display project he led and helped create for the Milwaukee Mitchell Field Airport exhibit on behalf of Delco Electronics. Nick's humble nature, humor, and willingness to assist his fellow man was something to behold.

This garage find is ready for restoration and would certainly make the family proud to know it is going to agreat home where it will be restored back to it's former glory when Nick was cruising the streets of England and the United States. Please note this is a NO Reserve sale so only bid if you want to own this car. Note this is a complete car however there is some rust on the chassis andundercarriagealong with what is visible on the rocker panels. We have a replacement set available and these will come with the car.
