A good running driving restorable classic!
1974 Triumph Spitfire Description
This 1974 Triumph Spitfire is a fine running project that I acquired earlier this year. However due to limited space I am forced to downsize my projects. The previous owner had enjoyed the car for nearly 7 years and daily drove it from 2012-2016 before starting the restoration process. The previous owner replaced the floor pans with metal and fiberglass as his goal was to ultimately revive it as a driver. The frame is solid and there are no significant rust issues underneath. Basically this is a good running candidate to continue to restore/reassemble and enjoy. Recent service consists of new brakes and tires, as well as a new master brake cylinder and clutch slave cylinder. It also has a new Weber carb, intake system, headers, and battery. Excellent oil pressure and it starts right up and runs fine. The previous owner refreshed the 1500cc motor in 2016 before parking it in his garage with just over 100k on the odometer. I personally performed both the fuel filter and oil & filter change in June 2019. It runs and drives but it’s not registered and since many components are off the car, it’s better to tow it home. I have TONS of new parts and also many old replacement spare parts. It has a functional hood scoop that was cleanly installed by the previous owner and it looks great. The wooden dash is new and perfect. The gauges work and it has aftermarket high back leather seats in like-new condition (think Miata-like). It also has 4 new tires and the factory wheels have been restored/painted. I also have 4 brand new chrome wheel trim rings and the factory black center caps. I have over $800 worth of brand new parts that will come with including the many trim pieces and new rubber/weather seals. I have a long list of new parts/items such as but not limited to: finisher chrome strips, rubber seals for doors and windscreen, weatherstripping, wiper arms and blades, complete interior carpet set, beige door panels, ignition tune-up kit, and many more spare items. And I also have a brand new black dashpad cover and the pair of black rubber guard covers for the front bumper that will be included. It currently has a soft top installed but I also have a factory hardtop that will come with the car. I have two sets of top boots and the rare full Tonneau cover with center zipper and headrest pockets. I also have a spare trunk lid. It’s currently white and mostly in primer since the body is ready to be finished/prepped and painted. I will also include a new can of automotive urethane paint in Pure White and other various bodyshop materials to help your restoration. As I stated earlier, this is still a running project however, since many cosmetic trim and aesthetic components need to be installed back on the car, I would suggest towing it home. I have a car trailer and can assist the new owner with delivery locally. No lowball offers please. Clean FL title in my name.
