1959 Triumph TR3 Description

1959 Triumph TR3A Roadster, serial number TS 5688** LO. The TR3A was updated with various changes including a full width radiator grille, lockable boot handle, raised stampings under the bonnet and boot hinges and under the exterior door handles (whichmakes this car even more unusual as the car is absent of the raised areas), as well as a redesigned rear floor section. This face-liftedmodel was commonly referred to as the Triumph "TR3A". However the cars were not badged as such and the "TR3A" name was not used officially, as is evident from contemporary sales brochures. The "TR3A" was built between 1957 and 1962.

This 1959 Triumph TR3A is in very good condition and has been very well maintained. The 1991cc engine runs very well and transfers all of its power through a 4-speed overdrive manual transmission. This is a real barn find the paint is old maybe original on otherwise a very nice solid original car. The factory steel wheels have tires that really need to be replaced. This is a very comfortable and fun car to drive. This TR3A is perfect for a weekend cruise or will make a great conversation piece at any car show.

The Triumph TR3 was the first production car to include standard disc brakes, which were continued on the "TR3A" facelift. The car was known for its superior braking ability, making it an autocross favorite.

It is estimated that only 9,500 of the original 58,236 built survive in the world today.

The "TR3A" is often seen in vintage and production racing today. The "TR3A", despite being over 60 years old, is still competitive in the E-production class of SCCA.

This is an once in a lifetime opportunity to own, restore to your liking one of the most desirable, fastest appreciating, most beautiful, British sports cars ever made.
