1967 Triumph TR4A TR4-A Solid Axle Vintage
1967 Triumph TR4A Description
Selling my 1967 Triumph TR4A. This is a beautiful British sports car nicely finished in red. The paint is very nice and recently done. The interior is very nice as well and recently done in black with white piping. All of the chrome is in very good condition. The glass is good & the windows roll up and down. The top has been recently replaced and in very good condition. The car runs, drives, shifts & stops very well. My wife and I have taken it on several outings, most recently to the Glen Ferris Inn in West Virginia where most of the pictures were taken. The tires have less than 200 miles on them with new tubes and liners. The wheels have been recently painted. There is no rust on this car. The underneath appears to have been professionally undercoated. The floors are solid as well as the trunk area. This car is fun to drive and turns heads wherever you go. I've had it in several shows as well. I am reluctantly selling because I have a TR4 ground up project that I'm working on and need the funds to complete the car. Most of the work that was done on this car was before I purchased it, so I don't have detailed information. I have put kits in the carbs, tune up parts (points, plugs, condensor, cap & rotor) and changed the oil. I have replaced the starter solenoid as well. The car does not smoke, leak or use oil. It shifts smoothly through all of the gears. Exhaust sounds very nice and like a British sports car should. The steering and suspension is tight and responsive. The brakes are good. The dash is nicely finished. All gauges and lights work. The heater works. A full tonneau cover is included. This is the rarer solid axle '67 model. The vehicle has been garage kept by both the previous owner and myself.
The bad stuff:
Wipers don't work and I haven't investigated why. I never take it in the rain anyway.Horn doesn't work. There is no radio.Paint is extremely nice as you can see from the photos, but not flawless.Usual cracks in the steering wheel where the spokes meet the rim.Small defect in the passenger door panel underneath the crank handle.Usual bumps & dings on the wheel chevrons. The engine compartment needs cleaned & detailed. Paint has peeled in some areas, especially under the master/slave cylinder. I will include a new can of matching paint. I just haven't had time to do it.
I've described this car to the best of my knowledge. Nonetheless, it is a nearly 50 year old vintage car. This vehicle is an absolute pleasure and fun to drive. I wouldn't be afraid to drive it anywhere. I hate to sell it, that being said, the $16K starting price is the absolute least I will take for the car. If it doesn't sell, I'll go another route.
The car is available for inspection in Charleston, WV. I am happy to provide additional information and photos. A $200 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is due immediately on close of auction. Balance is cash on pickup or wire transfer. There is a clear WV title in my name.
Thanks for looking.
