Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this highly original, early, desirable TR-6 in superb colors still wearing it's original paintwork. This car was just purchased from it's Central California owner who purchased the car 8 years ago from a lady, it's third owner. The car was stored for some time, so he set about to give it a light cosmetic and mechanical refreshing into the lovely condition as you see this car today. This car includes plenty of original documentation since the day of it's delivery and is a stunning survivor car in it's factory paintwork.The bodywork on this car is extremely good only showing some variable typical dings from use over the last 51 years. These could be removed professionally if desired. The car's factory paintwork has been metered all over and shows a variation from .065 -.105 mm. which is original factory thickness. A small repair has been made on the front lower valance, early on in the car's life, up front just under the RH middle of the grille. The car's paintwork is lovely and glossy all over showing a few minor flaws, chips, light scrapes. It's impressively original. Chromework is 100% original and lovely throughout, as well as light lenses, rear fender decals, etc.The car's interior has also been carefully well-preserved throughout when possible. Amazingly, the car still retains it's original black cut pile wool carpet set in very good condition. The rare folding headrest seats are the original factory vinyl showing only one flaw on the driver's side. The dashboard wood and surrounding pads have been replaced. The car still retains it's original steering wheel, windshield, panel kit, top boot and tonneau cover, trunk carpet mat, handbrake boot, etc.Mechanically, the car is very good, as one would expect. Recent work included getting all systems up to par. The car starts easily on the key, revs hard like these early cars do. It has good oil pressure, no smoke or noise, and transmits a fantastic sound out of it's newer rear muffler. The gearbox, brakes, and clutch all feel good and the car floats confidently down the road on it's newer radial tires and 72-spoke painted wire wheel set. The engine compartment is very original and has just received a light detailing. The car's underside looks completely original and normal for the car's age and mileage.Overall, an extremely well-preserved early TR-6 in superb colors with wire wheels. This double blue plate California car has had only 4-owners in 51 years and is a fantastic survivor still retaining it's glossy original paint and mostly original interior. It includes a host of original documents from day one and one would be hard pressed to find an original early example like this.
