1957 Triumph TR3 FRONT DISC BRAKES, 4-SPEED, MATCHING ENGINE Description

Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this rare and desirable TR3 Smallmouth Roadster. This car was just purchased from a Northern California dealer, but before then the car appears to have lived in the dry state of Idaho. There is an Idaho windshield sticker circa 1982. This car appears very straight and complete, and appears to have left the factory in the desirable black/red color scheme. The car retains the original engine which number (TS15730E) is sequenced correctly and close to the car’s VIN (TS15479L).The body on this car is quite good and wouldn’t require much in the way of metal repairs. The floors are solid but are showing some weakness in the toe board area up front, and could use a replacement piece there. The car is supplied with a pair of new floors. The boot floor is excellent and there’s no sign of rear damage anywhere. The interior needs restoring but appears complete with the rare, correct, original “square” seats. A new cloth wiring harness and a new expensive trafficator assembly is also included. The car needs it’s aluminum egg-crate grille, which is affordably bought nowadays as a reproduction item. The engine turns by hand and may even run with a little bit of work. Some very minor disassembly was started around the brake box area but those parts are still present.Overall, this rare Smallmouth is an excellent candidate for an easy straightforward restoration. It appears to have started life in the desirable black/red color scheme and would make a fantastic finished car in that original livery. Please look at all pictures and call or email with any questions. We will assist in shipping worldwide.
