1973 Triumph TR-6 1973 TRIUMPH TR-6. SIENNA BROWN. Description
Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very original and quite decent driving TR-6 Convertible. This car was recently purchased from Ohio where the previous seller found it after being stored indoors for many years. He set about returning the car to be back driving on the road by replacing several mechanical items and then was going to move on to the cosmetics just when we purchased it.The bodywork on this car is overall very good and straight. There's no signs of rust except for a few small blisters just starting along the driver's B-post area. The panels fit well, opening and closing nice. Paintwork is an older repaint in the car's original brown color with checking showing on the upward facing panels (hood, trunk, rear tonneau panel), but the sides still show pretty nice and glossy with some usual chips from use. The windshield is newer but shows some minor delaminating just starting in the top LH corner. Brightwork is good and appears to be the car's original, although the bumpers have a few dings in them. The car's interior looks very original and could use a little TLC. The panel kit looks quite decent. The seats are original and are losing their foam. The driver's side has been taped up. The dashboard's instruments all work correctly but the pads and wood facia are showing their age and need improvement. The steering wheel and console look good. Lots of original carpet is present but is starting to detoriorate, as the front main floor ones are missing. The car's black soft top, amazingly, looks like the original ! The rear plastic windows have browned and need replacing, but it would be nice to try and save it. The car still retains it's original New Tan top boot and black tonneau cover, both in excellent condition.Mechanically, the car feels good going down the road with really no issues. The previous owner performed all of the following work : new fuel tank and sender, 4 new tires, new coolant hoses, heater control valve, thermostat, new brake master cylinder, clutch master and slave cylinder, new rear shock conversion kit, ignition tune up, rebuilt carburetors, new air filters. The engine starts and runs well with good oil pressure, no smoke or noises, and sounds strong. The gearbox operates well and rear end feels fine. It's a good driver out on the road and feels like it's honest and correct mileage. PLEASE SEE DRIVING VIDEO.The car includes it's original lifting jack, handle, lug wrench, spare tire, and tool pouch. The underside look excellent and very solid with only the slightest spot of corrosion on the inner RH rocker, an easy repair.Overall, a very nice well-preserved TR-6 driver in it's original colors with an original 80k miles. This survivor car drives well and can be preserved or lightly restored going forward, and would be an easy enjoyable project.
