1957 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Description
History:I have owned this 1957 VW Bug for 8 years. The chassis vin number 1565020 indicates that the vehicle was built in May of 1957. Originally it was a California car that was used to commute from Hayward to Oakland California from 1957 to 1979. In 1979 it was parked in a barn next to a horse and buggy. The bug sat there until late 2008 when I towed it up to Oregon for its restoration from 2008 to 2010. When I picked up the vehicle the odometer read 22650 miles, now 36930 miles.
Pros:During the restoration the following was done: the body was removed from the pan, the pan and body were striped to metal despite there being no rust, the body was painted Honda blue, sound deadening/ heat shield was installed, the wiring through the headliner was replaced and the interior was replaced. I have most of the receipts for the build if you are interested.

All in all, this car is very fun, quick and it has about 15K miles on it since the restoration. The sway bars make it handle well and it still gets nearly thirty miles per gallon on the freeway. This car turns many heads.
