1969 Volkswagen (VW) Bus - Barn find - Deluxe Microbus
1969 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Description
I'm selling this 1969 VW Deluxe microbus. I picked it up last fall straight from the barn it had been sitting in for decades. I had big plans for it but I recently ran across a '71 Westy that was too good to pass up so this thing has got to go. Make no mistake, this thing is a project but it's pretty complete. It is missing the middle and rear seats. There was a wooden platform back there that I took out when I bought it. It has rust in the battery tray and a couple spots on the rockers but the floors are pretty solid. There is a bit of flaky surface rust in the front floors as well but they feel solid enough. There are a couple small rust holes in the roof that I suspect are from a leaky roof in the building it sat in. The rain gutters have rust as well but I didn't see any spots where it went all the way through.
The body is fairly straight. There are a couple small dents on the nose, a dent on the left rear corner and the very obvious dents on the right rear. I believe that the left front door and left dog leg were replaced with parts from a blue bus a long time ago. It was originally painted Montana Red with a Cloud White roof but it was repainted at some point in the current brownish red.
The interior was originally tow tone light grey/ medium grey leatherette. Since it is "barn find" there is a fair amount of mouse poop in there.
The engine is a non original dual port that I missing the carb and intake manifold and is seized as well. I'm sure the brakes will need to be completely one though as well.
As I sai, this bus is a major project but it's pretty complete. I have a clear Colorado title in my name. I've described this bus to the best of my knowledge as I want the new owner to be happy with their purchase. Please feel free to ask any questions. I'm happy to sell to overseas buyer and will assist with local transport. Thanks
