1987 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Description

I have decided to sell my long time project 1987 vanagon. Over the last 3.5 years I have brought this thing back to life and need someone to take over and finish it out. The only reason I'm selling is because I want to build a full size van for my growing family and to take to mountain bike races as a support vehicle. I absolutely love this van but it's time to part ways.

In the ad I will be brutally honest in hopes that if someone is buying out of state they know exactly what to expect when they see the vehicle and not receive any surprises when they take ownership.

. It will come with a 1992 svx motor, harness, ecu, and reversed coolant manifold.

Here is the work that has been done to the van since I rescued it from a field in Arkansas

Now for the bad, keep in mind this is a 30 year old van and if it was perfect I would be asking much more.

-It needs paint and body. There is previous damage in the passenger rear that was not repaired correctly. The nose will need some straightening as well.

-The drivers window switch for the passenger side does not work in the up position. (the passenger switch works fine)

-The suspension bushing have not been replaced recently, they aren't worn out but could use a refresh anyway.

-The drivers side door and rear hatch electric locks don't work. As well the rear hatch tumbler is sticky at times but works.

-The headlight dipswitch only works in the low position

-The dash heater motor stopped working at the end of the winter, I haven't looked to see what the problem is yet.

-One of the cupholders in the back is broken

-It needs a new fuel tank, the existing on will seep fuel when filled all the way up and has a dent in the bottom of it

-The Odometer stopped working at 168k miles. It has never worked since I have had it.

Here are a few problem I plan on addressing in the next few weeks.

-The brakes I just installed are squeaking, I am going to try a different pad and replace the rotors.

-The new starter I have likes to stick occasionally, I plan to replace it with an OEM and get rid of the parts store reman on there now.
