your looking at a one of a kind show peice. this 1966 vw has had a few modifications. this car was custom built in out shop (Kooky Rides) we specialize in very unique rides.has been shortend dromaticly, has been converted to electric drive Via Nissan Leaf drive train. 120 HP and 120 lbs of torque. Yes it will wheelie if asked. very very fast and torquie.custom paint base clear house of color custom powder coated wheels, leather interior ground up restoration (every nut every bolt every part new!) Custom Willwood brakesyears of work and sick amout od cash tied up here. this van is truly a show piece and as you can imagine get the atantion of everyone that walks buy. drive it show it or use it for your advertising purpose.about the drive train. this van used a 2011 nissan leaf with low miles for a donor nearly all electronics are still in used as al computers even still has the obd2 port. drive train should be treated as a nissan leaf. the bus was striped down to bare metal and all sheet metal damages were cut out and replaced. there are sevearl YouTube videos on the internet showing this build just google search "vw bus nissan leaf electric " you will find lots of info on this build. Now for the BAD!! during completion of this van it was at our upholstery shop and the tech installing the front gas pedal cover ran a screw through the wiring harnes to the pedal. wiring has been repaired. The realy issue is because we left all the electronic in place the CPU/ body controll module saw this as a threat and put the car in service mode. What this means is it will requir some work. the BCM (body control module) will need to be reset vis dealer cpu or replaced and programed VIS deal cpu. the van does still fuction and it will drive fine but has problems with the initial turning on of the car. you must push the start button several (somtime lots) ot time repeatingly to get it turned on. onve you get past the start up it drive and operates as normal. We have keep this van in our shop for a while hoping to find time to fix it but we are so far backed up on customer cars it does not look like we will every find time for it. man ours alone we have neraly 80k dollors in R and D for this build so we know there will be a loss here. I know there are many of you out there on youtube that have been waiting for this day and here it is FOR SALE.
this vehicle has very low ground clearance and will requir a low trailer to hall it away. I will be glad to walk the winner bidder through the whole build process and help load. winning bidder will need to have paid for in full before it leaves here. chaiers checks will only be excepted from BofA Wells fargo city bank or other local bank that fund can be verified in pereson localy here. cash is fine too!!
