Extremely nicely restored genuine Coral Red 1957 ragtop bug. This is a California black plate car that I purchased from the collection of a retired German VW mechanic years ago. He restored it for himself and purchased it from the original owner. Title is in original owner's name, so technically you would be the 2nd owner. Car was never driven after being restored (until I purchased it) and last registered in 1979 (see license plate). All original sheet metal including fenders and Sekurit glass. Runs and drives like new. Engine was rebuilt and has only test drive miles on it, steering is tight and responsive. This is an original Coral Red car with matching pan, body and 36 HP engine and no signs of body damage. Paint and panel fit is excellent with no dents, dings or chips. Interior, headliner, carpet and sunroof are high quality and professionally installed (headliner looks perfect). Ragtop functions smoothly with no rattles and original Golde handle. Bumpers are original German and look nice but have some minor dings. Door handles are original and show some pitting. Running boards and stainless trim are new. Pan is excellent and only repair is professionally done and in battery area. Radio, horn, wipers and turn signals not working presently but lights all work fine. I haven't spent any time addressing these issues, but may take a look at fuses etc. (wiring is new so I'm sure it's something simple) New battery, master cylinder, soft lines and fuel shut off. This is a pan on restored bug that is a pleasure to drive. I've included a picture of the pan so you can see there is nothing to hide with paint, patching or undercoating.I never intended to sell this car but I'm down sizing my collection. I reserve the right to cancel the auction if I sell before it ends. Please bid to win and ask any questions before doing so. I only accept wire transfers and require $500 deposit within 48 hours and balance within 72 hours. I cannot store for more than 2 weeks but will work with your shipper. If you have 0 or negative feedback you MUST contact me before bidding or I will cancel your bid. Please do not bid if you don't have the funds. Happy to answer any questions that I've not addressed in this posting as I don't want any surprises for you or me.
