1978 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Description

A much loved 1978 Classic Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Westfalia camper with automatic transmission.

I’ve owned this automobile for some 20 years and continued other’s efforts before me to bring it to glory. It runs, steers and brakes great. No rust and passes California smog tests. Actual milage nobody knows.

New curtains, new windshield, new canvas and a $6,000.00 paintjob.The pop-top and bed works with zipper windows on all sides. Also a quality audio system with remote and CD player. The present engine (no #3) has been kept up with original parts over the years.I have a trove of receipts starting 1978 to the present.

Things that need fixing: An “arm” or something for the windshield wipers – the motor runs, but the blades don’t move.Also heat and fan works, but the dashboard’s plastic control levers are missing.Small tear in driver’s seat, otherwise beautiful upholstery (and custom curtains) front and back.

Great vibe in this vehicle.Always get a thumbs-up or “peace” when rolling down the street.Sorry to see it go, but hope it will bring others the joy, pride and romance it brought to me.
