1962 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Description

Great, very cool truck. Runs, drives – ready to use as a daily or as a shop vehicle. Has patina logo from being a shop vehicle in years past. Very rust free, other than a few spots in the rockers and the back of the treasure box. Bed floor is actually in very good shape. Two Bus rubber floor mats covering it now. Gates in good shape. Safari front windows and rear window for super airflow on hot days or at shows. Shorty roof rack is functional and in good shape.
Lowered, with new disc brakes in front (and new drum brakes in rear) and new Fuchs replicas with new tires. Rides well for a lowered splitty. Newer adjustable beam. New master cylinder, speedo cable, front suspension. PO said new Freeway flyer trans. Starts right up, runs well, shifts well through all gears. 1600 dual port, stock carb and bug muffler. Needs air cleaner. Tracks straight – steering box has only minor play on center. Better than most.
Front seat is recovered and in good shape, as are the rest of the interior panels. Not really a show truck, but very functional. Carpet has sound deadener under it throughout cab. CD player and hidden speakers (under seat).
This is a driver that could use a little more TLC – but not much. It gets TONS of attention, anywhere you drive it. If you stop, prepare to talk to people. It is hard to find Split window singlecabs that aren't either over restored or a rusting hulk of a project. This is ready to work or drive, or do a rolling restoration with something that you know isn't missing half of what's supposed to be included in boxes.
