1972 Volvo Other P1800 E Description

1972 VOLVO P1800 E
I am just getting into the Volvo P1800's, mainly because I think their style is slick and cool. I purchased a 1968 P1800 S and then bought this 1972 P1800 E thinking I would use it as parts to restore the 1968 P1800 S. But after buying it, I discovered many parts are not compatible between the two and further, the 1972 was a runner and in far better shape than the 1968. Upon doing more research, I discovered my 1972 P1800 E has the fuel injected B20 Jensen motor and a very rare Borg & Warner automatic transmission.
Listen to what classic car expert WAYNE CARINI, the host of Chasing Classic Cars on Velocity Channel and owner of vintage-auto seller F40 Motorsports had to say about collector car value in the December 2014 issue of Forbes Life -‘Buy, Hold and Sell’ in 2015′.

"WAYNE SAYS, "BUYVOLVO P1800". Volvo made a splash in sports cars with the 1961 introduction of the P1800–combining bodies from England’s Jensen Motors and the proven Volvo B18 power plant. The P1800 was built from 1961 to 1973, but many ended up in the scrap yard because of corrosion problems. Prices are now on the rise, and $100,000 could soon be the norm."

As you can see by the pictures there are some rust issues that clearly seemed to be common in these cars, but all-in-all, she is in pretty decent shape and with a bit of love could either be a nice daily driver, or an excellent starting point for a restoration project. I also have a trunk clip for the rust repair in the trunk area. I have only owned this car for a few months and don't know a ton of stuff about P1800's in general, but I was told that this is an original car and that I am the 3rd owner.
