1946 Willys Jeep 1960s Hot Rod Corvette Engine
1946 Willys CJ Military Description
Very rare original 1960s California hot rod. 1955 Chevy 265 V8 purchased in 1962. I have the original bill of sale. It was originally yellow but painted as a military tribute in the 1990s. It has a WW2 Jeep frame and windshield.
It has many rare and original parts! 1957 Thunderbird Holley carb completely rebuilt. It has an early 1960s Ford steering column and master cylinder, a handmade custom roll bar and optional rear seat. Functional military seat belts! This great Jeep has been inspected from bumper to bumper and has nice patinas but ALL parts are repaired or replaced! It is ready to go! New gas tank, windshield gaskets and interior gauges. Fog lights were sourced from a farm tractor! This guy is totally custom but outstandingly well done!
It has the original transmission and heavy duty Dana 44s so top speed is about 60mph. The engine was rebuilt several years ago and is in outstanding condition. This is a rare 4k engine with solid lifters and a rare 1955 Corvette intake and valve covers!
It drips a very small bit of oil and transmission fluid but this is a 70+ Year old hot rod! That means you only need to check the fluids once a year to top them off! It drives wonderfully with lots of power, very few rattles, and has a functional 1940s siren. This rare California car has only very minor rust. It is 95% rust free! The original hat channels under the body are rusted but this is extremely common due to the wood inserts and very easy to replace. A real nice Jeep! Super rare and a TRUE 1960s hot rod.
I don't need help selling this vehicle and I am in NO hurry to sell. Just don't have the time to cruise that this quality hot rod deserves. Be ready to get saluted and have many Veterans stop you to talk.
My wife wants me to tell you that the light colors on the Jeep is just dust from a dirt road. I really like the "old soldier look" so I like it to look like a I just found it in storage!
Also several extra parts come with the Willys. A Coca-Cola picnic cooler, a tarp for bad weather, and several cool military tools.
This Jeep is being sold As Is with no warranty. Many documents and receipts are available back to 1962! I can help with shipping but payment in full must clear before shipping. Ask your family before you bid as all bids are final. This is an amazing hot rod that could be seen in many magazines.
