1959 Austin Healey 100-6 4-SPEED WITH OVERDRIVE. 48-SPOKE WIRES. HEATER. Description

Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this decent and very straight 100-6 Roadster for restoration. This car was just purchased from it's previous owner in South Dakota who had plans to restore it. He purchased over $3000 in brand new parts that accompany the car, as a very good head start on it's restoration. There is some previous earlier history of the car living in west Texas. The car is quite complete and original with a good running and correct 100-6 engine (see video). The body on this car is very good with decent gaps. The back half of the car appears to be the original paint. The front half was in process of being stripped to bare metal and has been flash painted for protection. The grille fit is decent. The front of the shroud and headlamp areas could use some minor straightening but look good. The car's interior needs replacement as most soft items have deteriorated with the weather. The car includes all of it's correct components for restoration including soft top frame, sidecurtains, dash, nice instruments, etc.The car's chassis is very straight and solid with perfectly straight mainrails and 4 solid outriggers. The floors have been partly removed for replacement, along with front toeboard areas. There is some minor repair needed on the tops of the chassis before the floors go back in. The trunk floor could use typical replacement too. The inner rockers are showing some weakness. The outer rockers are amazingly the originals. The car includes an assortment of all NEW SHEETMETAL parts including both main floors, both toe boards, trunk floors, both rear floors, front valance, 2 dogleg cut-off replacement panels. Also included is the large assortment of NEW ITEMS pictured including LH and RH door shutface aluminum kits, full body rubber kit, cotton wiring loom, engine and transmission mounts, front suspension rebuild kit, LH and RH seat foam kit, 2 tie rods, interior and exterior chrome, steering wheel, battery tray, heater switch, top wood header, etc.The car's correct 100-6 engine runs well with good oil pressure and no smoke or unusual noises, and could prove to be a very healthy unit when put back into use.Overall, this running Big Healey is a great candidate for restoration and is finished in a lovely and traditional factory color scheme, with wire wheels and overdrive. This very straight car also includes over $3000 of new useful restoration parts.
