This is a pretty cool car and in remarkable condition for it's age. Starts easily, shifts smoothly. Not as fast as the 750iL (V12) version, but it's not slow and the M30 engine is considered much more reliable. No smoke from the exhaust and no fluid leaks. I've put close to a thousand miles on it with no problems other than the minor issues listed below. Interior is 8/10.Leather seats are a bit dry but in remarkable shape for their age –just one separated seam in the rear. No cracks on the dash, wood trim is all present with some minor cracks. Older (~2012) re-spray is showing it's age, but paint is still very presentable. Brake pads and rotors are in good condition, as are the hoses and belts. Original floor mats in OK condition are included in the sale, as are the owner's manual and all service records.
Speaking of service records, this car has the most amazing service history of any car I've owned, with only 1 owner for the first 30 years of it's life. The BMW service book show the original owner's name* and dealer service stamps up through 72k miles, and then the records from independent BMW specialists start. Most of the service and repairs from 1998 through 2018 were done at European Service Center in Leesburg VA, and the receipts total over $70,000 - yes, $70,000! Talk about “spare no expense!” The last receipt (BMW of Sterling, January 2018 at 242,076 miles) was for $2,118.50 and included a new water pump, coolant hoses &clamps, and coolant level sensor. The AC compressor, condenser and hoses were replaced and the system converted to R134 in 2016. The list goes on, and on, and on...
Problems:
Oil Pressure Sensor error message – oil pressure is actually OK, but this warning message shows up about every other start-up – I actually had to start it 4 or 5 times to get the error message shown in the photos. It's apparently is a common problem with a couple possible causes; seehttps://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?2308741-E32-750i-04-88-Check-Control-Error-Oil-Pressure-Indicator-solved. If the sensor really does need to be replaced, at least it's a cheap part ($26 at FCP Euro:https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-oil-pressure-switch-genuine-bmw-12612367061).
Paint is presentable, but the clear coat is starting to peel in a couple of spots - worst spot is on the hood (see pics).
Separated seam (~5 inches) in base of left rear seat leather (see pics).
Driver's power seat controls are a little wonky – forward/back works easily but you have to fiddle with the seat back tilt switch to get it to work. The seat memory buttons still work fine.
Caveats:
I'm a private seller, not a dealer, and this is a 32 year-old car. In 1988 people wore acid-washed jeans, Rick Ashley's “Never Gonna Give You Up” was at the top of the charts, and this car was sold new for ~$65,000. While the first owner replaced just about every damn part on this car, some of the replacement parts are now older than my adult children. It's an old car, and things go wrong with old cars. I've listed all the problems that I know of, but there but there maybe others I don't know about. (Translation: Sold As-Is/No Warranty)

On Mar-13-20 at 04:05:51 PDT, seller added the following information:Not sure it makes much difference in terms of values, but according to AutoCheck there may have been an odometer swap at some point. Title is NOT brand (see Google Photos album, says "actual" under mileage), but please consider this car true miles unknown (TMU).
