1970 Chevrolet (Chevy) 3/4 ton sport van
1970 Chevrolet G20 Van Description
This is a 1970 Chevy 3/4 ton sport van. The model year is actually 1971, but the van was purchased and titled in 1970, so the title says 1970. The van was purchased new by the military. It has the original 350 cubic inch Chevrolet engine, that appears to have never been molested in any way, It starts and runs good and has plenty of power. The numbers on the pad in front of the head are VI230TBZ. The transmission is a 3 speed on the column, The shifter is a little worn so you must lift it for the middle of the "H" pattern. The clutch is stiff, but works well. the windshield has cracks but the rest of the glass is in good condition. I consider the floorboards or this van to be in exceptional condition, I can not see need for repairs anywhere, and according to the build sheet it was purchased with factory rust protection. The dash is the original metal dash with a thin plastic coating that is peeling off badly. The passenger side door was caught by the wind and is slightly bent along with the fender (see photos). the door panels are metal and in good condition. The rear end is the original 12 bolt, non posi, with 3.08 gears. The turn signal lever is broken internally so no signals. The ignition switch is worn, so you must be careful to make sure it is off when you pull out the key or the battery will go dead. The last time I drove this van on the highway it cruised and handled nicely for a 46 year old van. I am in Bennett Colorado, about 20 miles east of Denver, I can help with loading this vehicle, or you may want to drive it home!
