1963 Chevrolet Corvair Description

Sold new April 25, 1963 to Gillette Razor Corporation. The car was garage kept by the employee it was assigned to until it was sold to me 6 years ago. 29,000 original miles. Original paint, top, and interior. Completely stock, unrestored car. The undercarriage is completely rust free as are the floors and trunk. There is one very small rust spot shown in the photo. There is one minor dent on the car - courtesy of the Napa Valley Earthquake in 2014. The interior and top frame are spectacular showing little wear and no tears or scratches. To make this a show car it would only need paint unless shown as stock original.

New Clarks Carpet, rebuilt carburetors by Wolf, new Clarks gas lines, complete tune up with new plug wires. New Clarks fan belt, new brake lines, new wheel cylinders, brake shoes, rebuilt master cylinder. New Clarks exhaust system, correct fabric heater hoses. New rear springs, shocks, suspension inspected and cleaned.

All engine shrouds were removed, the motor was cleaned, resealed completely. The shrouds were powder coated to original paint sheens and reassembled with the original hardware which was cleaned. The body to engine seal was replaced and put together with the original staple set up in the original holes. The car runs like a low mile car should, does not leak any oil, and the heater system works perfectly as it should. No rattles or squeaks, great acceleration and stopping.

This is a carefully maintained family heirloom that would only need paint to be show condition. The paint on the top of the trunk and engine lid is faded, the chrome on the car is beautiful and there is no rust or pitting at all.

The trunk has not been repainted and is in excellent condition. No rust. The original jack, window washer bottle and mat are in place.

I have original manuals and documentation of the provenance. An extensive collection of receipts from Clarks is included.

The power top motor works fine and retracts the top. The system needs to be bled as it will not go up without assistance. The convertible well area is clean, original, no rips. There is a black boot cover and the original plastic bag. There is one tiny1" tear in the original top it is remarkably clean for its age. There are no scratches or rust on the top frame. The original top pads are perfect and there are no tears. The plastic back window is in very good condition. There is a NOS correct antennae that is on the car when the car cover is off.
