1965 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Description

Built at the LA factory. Sold new at Guaranty Chevrolet in Santa Ana CA. April 28, 1965. One CA family owner since new until I purchased the car from the original owners. Always garage kept, no rust. Very clean and straight car. Original purchase order shows original equipment 140hp motor, 2spd Powerglide, seat belts, tinted glass, PB AM radio, padded dash, wire wheel covers, and undercoating.

Car has complete documentation with Protect-o-plate, manuals, and CA registrations. 29,000 original miles. Unrestored car. Paint is mostly original with some touch ups, no rust. Minor scratches and dings and paint is checkingas the car is not restored. Cars like this are only original once. Will need paint to be show condition, but a very nice and clean original presentation. No rust around the cowl, doors, seams, wheel wellsor rockers . There isa small rust spot where the battery sits, caused by the battery.

The blue interior is like new. No rips or tears in the seats. New Clarks carpets. Great door panels, dash, dash pad, and interior paint. The kick panels are like new. When we removed the original carpet we found the paper carpet tags and seat tags. There was no rust anywhere under the carpet. The photo shows the condition of the floors. I saved the original carpet, it comes with the car in a bag.

Manually operated top in good condition. Original well, boot, and pads.

All engine shrouds were removed, cleaned, powder coated to correct factory sheen, and installed with the original hardware. The engine compartment looks like new. All 4 carbs rebuilt by wolf. Complete tune up with new wires. New fan bearing, battery and correct spring clip battery wires. New Clarks heater hoses installed with correct original clamps. Exhaust manifolds were removed and bead blasted clean, completely new Clarks 140 welded exhaust system with correct clamps and hardware. As a result, the heater system works great with no smells. The engine was completely resealed and does not leak. Valves adjusted.

Gas tank cleaned, new Clarks fuel lines. I have all Clarks receipts for parts.

New Clarks springs, shocks, rear brake lines, and brake pads. New rear wheel cylinders, master cylinder rebuilt. Brakes work perfectly. We removed the rear suspension and blasted and painted each part before reassembly. Everything is painted to the correct original sheen. New bushings were added. The ride is great. The ride height is perfect. The undercarriage is perfect with no rust or jacking damage. It is very clean. I have saved the original gray spiral shocks, they come with the car.

With a proper paint job this will be a beautiful CA show car. The engine compartment, interior, and rear suspension are show ready. Car shows mag hubcaps but is sold with its beautiful original wire hubcaps.

Buy it, paint it, show it. This one is a CA gem.
