Powering the Camaro is a massive 502ci performance GM crate motor mated to a stout Getrag 6 speed manual transmission. Other performance features include 4 wheel disc brakes. As a testament to how truly impressive this Camaro is, it was a featured vehicle in Hot Rod Magazine. The first generation Camaro is... a classic muscle car that will never go out of style. Please call or email us for more information. The first-generation Chevrolet Camaro appeared in Chevrolet dealerships in September 1966, for the 1967 model year. This new model featured a brand-new GM F-body platform with a 2-door, hardtop or convertible configuration. Buyers had their choice of either a six-cylinder or V8 power plants. The first-generation Camaro was built through the 1969 model year. Almost all of 1967-1969 Camaros were built in the two U.S. assembly plants: Norwood, Ohio and Van Nuys, California. There were also five non-U.S. Camaro assembly plants in countries that required local assembly and content. These plants were located in the Philippines, Belgium, Switzerland, Venezuela, and Peru.
