1987 Chevrolet Other Pickups Custom Deluxe Description

Very cool old US Department of Agriculture truck.

Here are the positives;

  • Short bed 4x4
  • new "built" engine, from what I told when I bought, I do know it has roller rockers, headers, Carter 4bbl, aluminum intake, Vortec heads. The engine runs strong!
  • transfer case was just rebuilt
  • transmission shifts strong and fluid was changed
  • new battery
  • new floor pans
  • miles shown are believed to be accurate
  • no perforated rust, cab corners, bed and frame are solid
  • front fenders replaced, driver side due to dents, passenger side due to leaking battery.
  • new seat cover, door panels, rubber floor mat, seat belts
  • new shocks
  • fairly new, in last 2 years, BF Goodrich All Terrain KO tires on black wagon spoke style wheels
  • truck does run and drive, Idrive it on the weekends to run errands around town.
  • all paint original except the front fenders
  • most of the loose trim and hardware I have

Here are the negatives;

  • this truck was fuel injected, I have cleaned up a lot of the un-needed wires, but would recommend a new engine wiring harness for non fuel injected V8 from LMC
  • this was a dual tank truck, but the passenger tank is MIA
  • front drive shaft needs to be rebuilt, didn't reinstall it after rebuilding the transfer case, its in the bed
  • interior needs to be finished, new seat belts aren't installed, dash is cracked, radio speakers are not wired up
  • bushings in the driver door hinge are worn out, door sags
  • A/C needs to be hooked up and charged, heater core not plugged in, needs a port added to the intake for water flow. It was NOT leaking when the engine was swapped.
