If you grew up at a certain time, you remember trucks like this 1986 Chevrolet K-10 Silverado 4x4 pickup everywhere. What you don't remember is any that were this nice, and someone has taken exceptionally good care of this handsome Texas truck to make it one of the cleanest long-bed 4x4s we've ever seen. With a rebuilt 383 Stroker V8 and a fresh, bright red paint job, this K-10 is ready to work, play, and turn some heads. Repainted 8k miles ago back to its original code 72U Apple Red, this big truck is a lot more contemporary-looking than many of its siblings. The finish quality is very impressive, far better than a truck at this price usually offers, and aside from a few signs of use here and there (and there aren't many), there's really nothing to complain about. It doesn't look like this truck ever worked for a living anyway, judging by how straight the body and bed is, but with the extra real estate you get from a LWB truck, it's certainly capable to drag half of Home Depot away with you. The chrome and stainless trim is in great shape and this one includes a bright insert on the tailgate, dual chrome mirrors, and shiny body molding that encircles the whole rig, all of which make this truck look quite stylish. The bed itself is in fantastic condition thanks to a spray-in bed liner and offering more evidence that it never had to haul gravel for a living, although it's still up for a haul or two on weekends. After all, a pickup truck is about the most useful tool you can own, even if it's one that's this much fun to drive. Step bars on each side of the truck were added to account for the ProComp 4-inch suspension lift, and we have to admit, nothing wears a lift quite like a 4x4 box Chevy truck. The interior is just as nicely presented with a combination of both original and newer components, all of which have an all-of-a-piece look that works quite well. Cloth seating surfaces, matching door panels, and plush carpets give the K-10 a more upscale feel, and the familiar GM upholstery is in good shape save for some light scratching on the top of the door panels. This Silverado is also equipped with factory A/C (needs to be serviced, but the system has many new parts) and there's a newer Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo in the dash powering a kickin' stereo system inside the cabin. The lever on the floor controls the 2-speed transfer case, so it's easy to switch between two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive on the fly, a feature that's so useful you'll wonder how you got by without it. A tachometer was added below the dash to monitor the revs, there's a switch next to it that manages electric cutouts for the exhaust, and once you settle in behind the tilt wheel and set the power locks and power windows, you'll feel right at home after all these years. The engine is a 383 cubic inch stroker V8 motor that was rebuilt approximately 8k miles ago, so it's reliable and easy to maintain. The original carburetor was replaced by a familiar Holley 4-bbl, HEI ignition system, and an aluminum intake, so it runs great and will be a snap to maintain for years to come. It's dressed up with a newer air cleaner and chrome valve covers, and you'll appreciate the rugged utility of the strong, torquey small block every time you drop it into gear. The transmission is a rebuilt 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive (also redone 8k miles ago) that spins a limited-slip 10-bolt rear end, so even though it's a giant pickup on all-terrain tires, fuel economy is at least tolerable and it cruises pretty easily at highway speeds. The exhaust has been tweaked a bit with long-tube headers and a Flowmaster muffler, but if you want to scare the neighbors there's an electric cut-out right before the muffler that turns this truck into a window-rattling monster. You'll also note that this is a dual-tank truck, offering bladder-bursting cruising range and the ProComp suspension lift and brand new Rancho shocks allow the use of those big 33x12.5-15 BFGoodrich All-Terrain white-letter radials. This is a truck that could still be driven every day and not feel like you're giving up any modern comfort and convenience. If you like the look, you're going to love how it drives. Call today!
