1978 Chevrolet Vega/Monza Description

1978 Vega Wagon, technically aMonza Wagon, inceChevy quit making Vega's in 1977, hey changedthe front grill area and called it a Monza in 1978. About 8 years agotheman I bought the car fromstarted building this car. His wife passed away and he lost interest in the build. It sat until I bought it last year.Since then I finished it to the point where it can be driven. The body is good shape for it's age. It looks good the way it is, ut needs some rust repaired (as noted in the Condition Description)and repainted if you want a really nice car.The engine is a 1965 Corvette 327, ate code B 11 5 (February 11, 965), lock casting 3782870 andblock vin FO2I6HH. From the factory the motor was listed as a super hi-performance engine rated at 365 HP. Only the fuel injected motor had more power (375). But sometime over the years the double hump heads have been removed and a set of power pack heads have been installed with a vintage Scorpion intake, Holley 750, nd an HEI distributor. It still has it's solid lift cam. The engine probably has around 300HP the way it is.You can always put a setof double humpsback on theengine with 2.02 valvesto increase the performance if it's not fast enough for you. The engine runs really good, ery smooth. Does not knock or smoke. I've been told by several Corvette guys that the engine alone is worth around $3000. Some guys said as low as $1500 and others said as high as $5000, ue to it's rarity. The transmission is a Turbo 350 with aVega torque convertor, hich is equal to about a 2000-2500 rpm stall convertor. Seems to shift good, utmayneed some new seals, eaks some. It has Hooker headers and new dual exhaust with turbo type mufflers. Sounds very quite at idle, ut deep rumble when revved up.The rear end is factory. It has an electric fuel pump and fan. New battery and battery holder. The tires have good thread, ut are probably 10 years old, o they do have some dry rot cracks. They hold air fine. Haven't added any air for 3-4 weeks before pictures where taken. The interior will have to be completely redone. Recover the front seats, nstall new carpet, ead liner, nd dash pad. Door panels are okay and back seats are okay (See Condition Description). All exterior lights work, rakes, urn signals and parking lights. Alternator works. Overall I think this will be a fun and head turningcar once it's completely finished or just fun to drive the way it is. I just have way too many projects to finish.Sold on a bill of sale only. Georgia does not require a title for a car older than 1985. If your state requires a title, ou can get one for this car, ut it will take some paper work. Please do your own research as to what you will have to do. If you are a GA resident, bill of sale is all you need. I am the registered owner. If you have any questions, ou can call or text me at 4 zero 4- 620-98 one 4 or email me at fshracing@aol.com
